Hate to kick this thing around even more but I wouldn't play for SDSU football. Kids nowadays are no dummies. They know where they will best be featured.

I'm this tool you must be referring to. I've actually chosen to not comment after all these losses. But enough is enough. Our players played hard in harsh conditions. I never blame players. Our coaches suck. They can't make adjustments. That's a major part of coaching.

Game was not helpful for recruiting but there is still an opportunity to get some recruits if we can win the last two games ,plus get into a bowl . BSU gets the upperhand in recruiting over all the MW West teams ,who are all average . On the other hand maybe some recruits see the opportunity to play .

Crappy bowl games do not equate to recruiting. Kids these days are not stupid.

They will stay committed because they see the opportunity for more early playing time.

Most of the 3* recruits are trying to prove to others they are as good as the 4* , want to play to do that-PT . So select the best opportunity to do that . Agree most of the G5 bowls are crappy but it is still an opportunity to get more practices in , exposure for the vets , does give a recruit a chance to visit the school and at that stage any bowl is better then sitting home and watching . AFA game is key , maybe beating a team with a winning record , and adding another bowl bid , with win over San Jose . You can be sure if we are competition with a school that is going to a bowl and we are not ,that school will keep reminding the recruit. the loss hurt but the last two games can take turn it around . By the way did AFA beat BSU ?

Ruffin, Munson,Kazee,Poole,Barrett all two stars. Jefferies and Morin were both three stars as was Seau and Mathis who are yet to shine.. Also, ESPN, Rivals, and 247 may have one guy two * and another a three. We have shown very good judgment except in two areas we have not been successful at quarterback and too many misses at wide receiver. Kids commit because of different reasons, some want to stay home, some of them want immediate playing time, some of them have some sort of major they want. Some of them like that campus in the town. Some of them liked the way the offense or defense works and how they fit in it. A big thing is the experience they get when they meet the players, and all indications are it's a real brotherhood at San Diego State. It's exactly the opposite of the whining, grinding, negativity that we sometimes see here.
What you also don't see on these recruiting sites ratings is the guy that transfers in with four stars or three. You don't get any credit for Rodriguez, Babiash,Dunn, Brown.because it's a positive place and because we are winning (if not enough for most people), but winning and going to bowls that really helps. It will no doubt help us if we could win the last two games and then go to a bowl and not screw up.. I think some you would rather have us lose all the rest of the games so you can complain, and whine, and make long lists of coaches we should hire etc.

So tell me this...those of you who are suggesting that players will/should de-commit...
What would it take for you to de-commit to being Aztec "fans"?...
It appears that you still have enough passion to post on AM and follow the Aztecs...but why haven't you just quit...it's easy to do...just quit...stop torturing yourself...just quit...quit today...
Send your allegiance to another program...there are 65 P5 programs...pick one of the better ones and become their newest fan...you can do it...
Hoping to change the direction of the SDSU athletic programs is like trying to change the direction the earth spins...so stop killing yourselves...find an easier mountain to climb...just become a Notre Dame or USC fan...can't go wrong supporting a consistent winner...no one would blame you...go...go now...save yourselves while there is still an opportunity...those schools would welcome you with open arms...go to them...
You deserve a winner...you deserve 5-star recruits...you deserve the hunt for a national championship...just do it...go...
We'll miss you...but we understand...we don't judge you...you can only support a winner and the Aztecs are not winning enough for you...so go...find a winner...

You deserve a winner...you deserve 5-star recruits...you deserve the hunt for a national championship...just do it...go... So you are OK with the underachieving coaching? That's nice, man. I've been following SDSU sports since the late 80's. I've seen other towns and teams come up and do better. San Diego has always been the sleeping giant... well when do we wake up? Even in our politics, San Diego is a bunch of enablers. When do we get a new stadium? New arena? When does our city fix all the decaying water manes and plumbing underneath our streets? The money for that should/will come from building a great sports program in our city which creates more additional revenues and tourism (Superbowls, Final Fours, etc) How about our Padres? Why was AJ Smith allowed to mistreat his star players and be so arrogant? Unlike the spin of the Earth, SDSU athletics can change for the better. We need accountability. Was Tony Gwynn that great of a coach? Rest his soul but really? He should be celebrated as a player and person but as a coach was he that good? So please don't tell me to go find another team to support. Look at the support for our Aztecs basketball practice facility. How the hell did Fisher get those donations? Through hard work and showing us things can change. I'm not blaming the football players. They're still young but we are not doing much to get into a power conference unlike a few others. And when the Big 10 comes a calling for expansion in a few years...we'll be behind BYU, Boise and other schools. Then we may as well fold up football. Typical laid back San Diego enabling-type attitude. Trickles down to our sports and politics and getting stuff done. Let's just be OK with crap. Why even live.

It's been a mix of bad play calls and a quarterback with a mediocre arm. Come back next year with the transfer quarterback and we should be much improved.
We are going to a 5th bowl game in a row, its not the end of the world. Our school keeps building momentum in every other avenue and we still have a shot when the conference dominoes fall again.

First unless the Aztecs win the two remaining games we may not get to play in a bowl game yes they are the minor ones but do help growth of the team and recruiting
Game this Friday against a decent AFA team , beat BSU , does help .
Do not think most of us think Rocky should be the face of the of the Aztec program/ team ( boils down to the coach )going forward , but with the finances , and if he gets the team into the bowl picture , he is coming back . Would appreciate if he or Toledo would say who is in charge of Recruiting and Developing our QB's . They are the focus of the team and we are heading in the right direction .Take ownership in the responsibility . Realize it is the players that make it or break it for the team and we need a QB . We have led the MW in running the last couple of years, but that does not win Championships today . 3-3-5 may get us up early in games but the other coach figures it out and we lose in the 4th Q. Execution , by playmakers.

Hopefully, most of the recruits aren't quite the drama queens some of our fans are. If they are, we don't want 'em.
