I can't believe we wasted a game playing this no-named school. But POINT LOMA and SD Christian are HUGE names? at least GCU was 15-15 last year. Better than non-D-1 opponents Exactly. Beats the hell out of St Katherine too. Nearby so travel for fans is easy. Gives us some exposure in Arizona for recruiting and TV revenue. I would still love to get home and home games against Arizona going again. Add Utah to that as well.

Fisher told Zylan that he would arrange a game in Phoenix . Maybe he could not get it done with ASU . They are better then some of the other local schools we play and pay here . They have a lot of money and have quickly jumped near the top of their conference .

Jerry Colangelo is on the board at GCU and he's working to make this a basketball school. I wouldn't bet against the guy and wouldn't be surprised to see them as a top 100 rpi school in the next five years. Might look like a head scratching move now but could be a solid school to have a relationship with for future scheduling.

They finished 3rd in WAC last year and their RPI was 191. They lost at USD 59-70 and at New Mexico 68-80.

Sounds like your saying there is a little payola going on here. 1st year D1 school, no payout on a home and home, no real BB program and they spend more in advertising and media then in teacher salaries. Jerry Colangelo says it all. A little quid pro qou, what comes our way?
