so that's why pitino was at the Padres game a couple weeks back. Probably came to see Hands and other local prospects and took in a game.

Believe he is participating in various AAU events this Spring /summer . Many guess it could be UCLA & Arizona battling it out for his talents . But Hands also said that CAL, USC, ASU, Louisville and SDSU are still in the mix

Every recruit tries to get as high as they can on the ratings board , thus get recruited by the best of the College teams , especially schools that will be looking for a starter . Do not believe any local recruit rated in the top 25 has decided to base their decision on staying local . SDSU needs to be SW16 or better to draw top talent.

Kids do not pick schools on "SW16 or better". They pick on where they fit, system, play time, & high school teammates etc.

Do not believe any local recruit rated in the top 25 has decided to base their decision on staying local . 2013: Jerrell Martin: LSU Robert Hubbs: Tennessee Rysheed Jordan: St Johns Keith Frazier: SMU Bobby Portis: Arkansas 2014: Isiah Whitehead: Seton Hall Isaac Copeland: Georgetown 2015: Ivan Rabb: Cal Malik Newman: Mississippi State Henry Ellenson: Marquette Stephen Zimmerman: UNLV Caleb Swannigan: Purdue Stop being so ignorant and uniformed, you are so hard-headed, with the same posts over and over and over again.

Since we were talking about SD recruit Jaylen Hands , Do not believe any local San Diego HS recruit rated in the top 25 , has gone from HS to SDSU . Be that Leaf , Chase B , Walton .... Many of the HS guys are looking for what they see as the best Prep , private school ,AAU team, gets them to the college they prefer and on to the NBA ,as quickly as possible . Not too many top 25 San Diego guys buy into the staying home theory in San Diego . That is one of the reasons that the 2015-16 seasons is important for future recruiting . Opening JAM Center with good run in MM , plus some wins over OOC opponents Kansas , Utah , maybe CAL , getting some guys drafted into the NBA .

Jaylen has had two terrific weekends during the July evaluation periods and his ratings will continue to go up . Next one is in Vegas .

From Twitter today. " Five-star point guard Jaylen Hands tells Wildcat Authority that he will visit Arizona on August 7. " It is disappointing when these local kids go to Arizona. Yep, I am talking about you Troy Leaf. That makes me even more of a fan of Trey Kell. You keep Leaf, Hands, and McCoy in SD and we have a legitimate top ten team. But hey, its a dry heat right?

I feel the same. These high school kids have grown up only knowing SDSU improvement unlike when Malcom Thomas and Tyrone Shelley were at Crawford and remembered SDSU as a losing program. We only got them as bounce backs. If we can do well this year in the tournament, it's hard not to wonder if hands and Mccoy would come here. I'm assuming Ayton is going to blue blood. These kids should know you can make the nba no matter where you go college. And if you don't have nba talent, why ride the bench at kentucky or duke. Calipari doesn't know how to develop talent.

San Diego kids try and get out of dodge for college. A chance at some freedom from the folks. Arizona is the best alternative because it's a quick flight/drive for parents, good program, and relaxed admission standards. Most don't stay there after college because it's a freaking hot mess. Most of that desert takes their summer vacations in SD.

We have been to S16 twice in the last 10 years , need to get back there or better if we want to land top rated recruits from any where . San Diego area has had only Leaf and Chase B rated in the top 20 , and they want to go to a top 20 team or better . Like it or not PAC schools and conference have out performed both SDSU and way better then MW in results of MM . Even Powell chose UCLA .JAM center will help but it all starts with getting to E8 or at least SW16 .

What we need is another KL type talent, someone confident enough in their abilities without having to stack the deck in their favor, they are willing to play AGAINST the best talent. . Malik Pope is a good example! Someone that will attract additional elite talent. Aztecs are very close, any top player want to be a trend setter and make the hometown proud? Just need a Rabb like Cal, it takes a lot of courage cause the blue bloods know they stack the talent deck giving players the best chance to win.
