Well, should we demote Rocky back to DC and bring back Hoke?

ECU is actually pretty good you know. Allowing the opponent to drop 70 points on you shows that North Caroline isn't good at all. We should have beaten them. As Deja Vu said...same ol' same. In two drives, Aztecs 160 yards, negative 7 points. Instead of 14 points, NC scored 7. We should have scored 45 points in that game. That is the Aztec history in a nutshell.

Seriously they have much more talent we will be oK in conference .The thing is we do not have a Qb who can throw anything but a few routes.Obviously this thing is on Rocky for grossly overestimating QK and not going after a good JC QB immediately. If you think Sipe has the final say in QBs your sadly mistaken. Looks like we have two potential young QB's

This program is no where near it was 5 yrs ago. Don't get fooled, it was horrendous 5 yrs ago! This program is a QB and minor defensive improvements from being ranked in the top 30.

True LA, but top 80 at best. Not good enough to beat anyone really decent.

QK at the helm is a massive handicap to overcome. The rest of the team SHOULD be 3-0 right now and talking dream season. Don't blame the entire team/program because if QK.

This is as discouraged as I ever remember being after an Aztec football game. We were there but there was very little doubt in the 2nd half as to which team would step up. We seemed to get ran over alot and just didn't look quite like we belonged. Oh well, we are who we are. What a gigantic difference a great qb makes ... that and Quinn just didn't play one of his better games. I will be happy with 6-7 wins and a bowl game; not much else to hope for.

I'm glad you will be happy with that. I won't be happy if we lose another game. Of course they will probably $#!+ the bed again next week. Grr, I am so pissed at how terribly they played tonight. So embarrassing.

OK, so after QK. That I will agree with. Yeah I agree... Programs arent built by having walk on play critical position... I blame this on Sipe... Dude was suppose to recruit great QBs and mold them into NFL qb... I totally agree about starting a walk on. However, I think Sipe's job is to develop whoever is recruited. This staff has bombed out for 3 consecutive years without recruiting a decent QB. Apparently whoever was doing the recruiting for the position didn't know his ass from his elbow. Two consecutive years should have raised a flag, but three years?

Long must go??? I so f****** agree!!! You are crazy. We have three straight eight win seasons, and will have a fourth this year with Long serving as HC.

I can't believe there are people arguing on this board. who cares if we're better than 5 years ago. We still lose the same OOC games. I'm sick of it.

I didn't mean that I will be happy as in "THIS is the result I was hoping for"; I meant I will accept the fact that we are not as good as I hoped for but I am still a fan and still love my team. Maybe some might think that by accepting the results that I am actually encouraging mediocre football. Maybe some might say: "I WILL NOT accept this"! It's reality, sort of like it's Sunday morning and I hate that and will not accept that ... it's Sunday morning whether I accept it or like it; it is reality. And sorry, it never occurred to me to check with anyone else to make sure it was OK to be happy. Have a good one.

But the fact is you spend twenty minutes to hire a New Mexico reject to replace a coach that now has his own issues, this is what you get. The 2014 MW is as bad as it gets, with State right in the middle of the problem. Better than five years ago? Five years ago this program was comatose, so please don't compare dead with a pulse. I invested a lot of money on the Aztecs yesterday then came the reality. It's not the money, I just should have known better. I still look forward to a Vegas Bowl appearance, thought I have no doubt the game will be ugly for MW fans. One way or another, I'll be there, as I have been, because it's, well, Vega$.

I won't be happy if we lose another game. Of course they will probably $#!+ the bed again next week. We aren't good enough to run the table so you might as well prepare yourself for that. However, we absolutely won't lose to UNLV so if you want to see a victory in person, show up on Saturday.

I think we are just going through birth pains. I've seen this a few times. Growing up in Central Texas, we had the Southwest Conference. In which, TCU, Arkansas, SMU, Baylor and Rice were all terrible. Texas A&M and Texas typically had winning seasons but the popularity wasn't there - not like today. All that changed though for Texas when a young man born in San Diego by the name of Ricky Williams decided to go to UT. Trust me, things were just different while Ricky was here and long after he left. A more recent example is Baylor's RG3. Because of him recruits wanna come to Baylor. Because of him a new stadium was just built.
That being said, all we need is one solid recruit (preferably on offense) that has the mental fortitude to change the environment surrounding our football team. Until that time comes, we as fans and alumni need to continue to root for our guys. Win or lose we are Aztecs.

But the administration and coaching allowed the program to disintegrate. We didn't have the ambition at the top, as do those in Texas. We had lame people, making lame decisions.

We lost to a good PAC 12 team on the road with a future nfl starter playing qb. Relax.
