xrl.us/bh35hhIf he people you surround yourself is any indication of your own character, Brown may be a dirtball. Can he recover from this screwup? Not part of the story, but this was about getting endorcements from Police unions. How sad that policemen must have their dues used in this kind of race against their will.

Jerry Brown is exactly whats wrong with our government. He's an angry, professional politician who will tell you what you all want to hear but will never do it. We don't need retreads governing us. Vote them all out and get some feresh faces and ideas in.

A whore is some politician who will sell out for votes. Almost everybody knows that. Meg is a whore as sure as $#!+ stinks. Most politicians are. We definitely do not need her as she has no morals or ethics. I am not the greatest fan of Brown, as he is only a B average politician. That, of course, is far better than Whitman, who is a total failure when it comes to voting in elections. She did not even know that there were elections until she decided to spend her illgotten millions to gain public office.

How the media is handling this makes me vote for Meg.
Welcome Gov. Whitman!

If Brown had used the "n" word, would the network, leftist media also let it go too?
I voted for Brown once and California has gone to bankruptcy. He's no good. Meg's turn.
Hail

The idea that she knows business and what it takes to turn a profit rather than just suck up taxpayer money is enough for me. I wonder about some of her positions and her voting record (not voting much for decades) is troubling. Most of us older folks lived through the two previous terms of Jerry Brown. If you like weird and eccentric, Jerry might be your guy. I just know from the past that he can not and does not want to do what is needed to give California a chance to dig out of this hole we are in. With Meg Whitman, we might have a chance. It also hinges on voters making some changes in the California Senate and Assembly. I have lots of respect for how you are looking at this vote. Lots of folks will just not look into it. Even if you vote for Brown, at least you are trying to become informed.

Hail Actually California has not gone into bankruptcy. It is not allowed to. What it can do when revenue has fallen as it has in this Depression is cut back on spending, exactly like any business does in hard times. When more people are working, and tax revenue increases, we can then increase spending. Amazing how that works. Meanwhile, the State needs to get the Federal Monkey off of our back. The Federal Government is killing us with misguided rules, regulations and restrictions (the 3 R's)on what we can and can not do. Those policies are destroying employment in this state. We need to withdraw from the union and go independent.

All these "jus' wanna feel-good, sit-on-their butt-assholes" would be cut off from their "free stuff".
Won't fly.
Could be fun, though.....

There is one crucial fact that should be uppermost in every voters' mind. In November there will be a realistic choice (which, unfortunately, discounts my Libertarian Party's candidate) between two candidates. Jerry Brown and Meg Whitman.
If Brown is elected, there will be nothing to stop the Democrats from raising taxes again and again, as well as enacting more and more ill-conceived laws whose primary results will be to hobble this state's economy even more than it is now.
We are in terrible shape and very serious cuts are necessary to make progress toward fiscal sanity to keep California out of the Greece category (if in fact is it not already there).
This state did not have to go from being a marvelous golden land to being an international economic joke. We did it too ourselves by promising too much to too many people. I'm not saying that the Republicans are a whole lot better. . . why the heck do you think I switched to Libertarian in 1976 . . . but on the whole they are more sensible in this area.
Right now the only thing standing in way of a terminal landslide of pork barrel and social welfare spending is the CA requirement that budget bills be passed by a 2/3 majority in the legislature. If Brown is elected, that's the first thing he and the other Dem. pols will try to change.
More people are moving out of CA to other states than the other way around. There's a reason for that. Do you really think that Jerry Brown is going to make changes needed to change that trend? Not for nothing was Brown called "Governor Moonbeam." That Brown is a serous candidate to again be governor is worse than a bad joke.
If Brown is elected, the joke will be on us.

In actuality Brown is the best candidate for the season. After all these years of Republican mismanagement, the state is a mess. Did yu ever see Arnold in front of Congress threatening to withdraw from the Union if the US of A did not stop fugging the state over? Did You? ? Of course you didn't. Yet, Federal policies have destroyed this one state. They enacted exclusive laws that totally fugged the economy in this state and did it without one threat. IF I were governor, you can be damn well certain that I would have told the Federal Government to either stop fuggin us over or get the hell out of the way because we would be going independent. That is all there would be to it. Sure, that would be crazy, but sometimes you need to raise hell to get people to see what is happening. It is not the same as crying fire in a crowded theater, but it would be close.

However, while I have no reason to try to "sell" you on Whitman, who I am not particularly favorable toward, I can only suggest that she is "not" Brown. Remember Rose Bird? If you do, think "Gloria Allred". I'll be voting accordingly.

God forbid a politician or his aides say something behind closed doors about their opponent. Haven't we heard Nixon and LBJ in the white house? She shoved an underling and paid out 6 figures - does that say anything about her character? Both of these two, a 70 year old career politican and someone who hasn't voted in decades are so uninspiring and so unable to handle california (then again who would be able to?) that that someone called her a whore for whoring her self out is a story.
how bout none of the above

Ah, but Monty, it is a question of the lesser or two evils. Whoever is governor will have to continue to make cuts in the budget. I'd much sooner have a career politician than a total novice to the political arena. Of course, I won't be voting for anybody as I let my wife cast my ballot and she is a strong fundamentalist Reagan, I think they would be happy.

I will vote for Whitman just as insurance against Brown. Sitting it out would be second. My judgement is that Brown will win inspite of my vote, but I will cast it anyway.
