I'm not on Rivals or any of the recruiting sites to be in the know...but... SDSU missed out on both former SDSU Gordon's sons. So what are the chances that the AZTECS can land SDSU Legend, Michael Cage's son? I know other top schools have offered along with us...but... With this years success and the amazing recruiting class coming in next season, i would have to think that gives us a little more consideration than before.

Timing would be perfect since he'd be arriving as Chol and Spencer are leaving.

Leaf is a IU lean. MJ should come down to Kentucky and SDSU.

Was he at our epic game along with the other recruits?

Think Cage 6'11" is key for the Aztecs going into 2016 , his OC team is rated in the top 5 nationally . Think it will be important for the Aztecs to continue to show Michael that we are a major program nationally not just a CA power . Most major schools are going to be going after him . Being his dads alma matter helps SDSU but even his dad wants the best program for his son and will let him decide . Leaf's family likes Indiana , they have been there for a visit and have an offer that he is looking at . Continue to win , national TV, get the practice facility in motion all helps .

I merely pose the question. Thank you guys for the feedback and for being respectful. I'm sure either way all of us fans will continue to appreciate all of what Michael Cage Sr. & the family has meant to SDSU. I just know this fanbase, aside from landing some of the best local recruits recently (Shrigley, Trey Kell, Angelo Chol) would absolutely go BANANAS over the prospect of having young Michael Cage on the Mesa. IMO it would be such a great thing for the Aztec Community after not landing either of the Gordon boys.
So glad to see such pride in the city over Aztecs Basketball!

Michael Cage Sr. is one of the nicest, classiest guys to ever step foot on Montezuma Mesa. I will support and root for MJ Cage no matter where he continues his education.
I just really really hope it's at SDSU!

He was not at the UNM game he was playing for the CIF championship that night. He is going to be a great player if he can get more aggressive offensively. Hard to do when you have a guy like Stanley Johnson as your teammate.

Hard to do when you have a guy like Stanley Johnson as your teammate. That won't be the case next season...he should be able to showcase his abilities as Johnson is a senior.

Cage and Johnson's team (rated #1 ) beat Kell's team 65-38 last night. Kell had 11 points, 0-6 on threes, 6 boards, before fouling out at the 4;45 of the fourth quarter . He was guarded by their best defensive player Rex Phlueger (sp). San Diego teams are 1-11 in the state playoffs . Kell did make 1st team All San Diego . Brandon Cyrus and Justin Moore , Aztec offers for 2016 both made the second team.

As Mr. Corleone use to say, "Make him an offer he can't refuse."

Cage and family were all here for the Udub game. They were here to visit with Romar and Co and not us. Fish did a great job intercepting the family as they headed to the Udub locker room and got a word in with all the family.

I just really really hope it's at SDSU! Couldn't agree more with your comment about Michael!! My Dad was down visiting my Nephews who played for Mater Dei with MJ. Michael helps coach the big men and my brother-in-law introduced my Dad to him and let him know that his son was a SDSU alum. Michaels response after shaking hands with my Dad was "Aztec for life". Of course my Dad had no idea what he was talking about. Just commented on what a nice (and big) guy he was. The guy is a class act

I guess as good a shot as anyone to land Cage Jr., but in reality we are living off NorCal talent and I believe that is from where we will land a top 10 recruit.
Something about State is alluring to those kids and the kids from the IE. JMO.

Something about State is alluring to those kids and the kids from the IE. JMO. I have to agree. Aside from competing in high school, I'm thinking a lot of them play AAU ball together. That being said, our past, present, and future Aztecs have the ears of the areas top talent. Malik's signing may end up being the biggest recruiting tool for us as he was so highly rated. Plus, those guys love it down here. Sac and San Diego may be in the same state, but as far as likability factor, San Diego has it in spades. Can't wait! - Bart Scott
