You are who you are! Orgeron was 10-25 at Missisippi! No doubt a good recruiter as he brought talent to Mississippi but below average coach as far as performance and results. And it isn't that difficult to come in with a firey attitude which gets everybody all psyched up to win. What's difficult is maintaining it for more than a couple years. See Bill Martin. If another Bill, Plaschke of the L.A. Times, can be believed, there were a lot of hangdog looks on the USC sidelines in the second half on Saturday. It was as if they couldn't believe their savior was being outcoached by Jim Mora, Jr.

He's the best recruiter in the business. He would instantly bring in a boatload of talent. SC/Haden treated him poorly; if he went to SDSU he'd bring a lot of players with him.

First, it's you're a moron. If you're going to break forum rules and get a warning at least spell the insult correctly and use proper grammar. Second, I'm not deleting that post or editing it for one reason - I want to make it clear to everyone that namecalling and personal insults are not allowed under forum rules, so this is a good way to remind everyone. This case ended up in an official warning and repeat offenses will result in the right to post on The Mesa being revoked. Let's keep this thing friendly. We can agree to disagree without the insults and namecalling. Stay classy San Diego. Thanks! -The Management.

"Reports are that Orgeron has applied for the FAU job. If there was an opening here, there is no doubt he'd be interested." If Orgeron was interested, there should definately be an opening here... "There is a question as to whether or not he (Orgeron) can actually coach up his players." And our current coach has shown this ability? What question? As soon as he took over for Kiffin they starting winning right away. Kiffin would never have beaten Stanford. I'm surprised that Orgeron would stoop down to FAU. He's been USC's ace recruiter and has BCS ties. Good God, he went 6-2 and yes, beat a Stanford team at home that also lost on the road to Utah. It was a nice win, let's not go enshrining Ed Orgeron just yet. His USC team beat Arizona, Utah, Oregon State, Cal, Stanford, and Colorado. They also lost to Notre Dame and got worked by UCLA. What about his work at Ole Miss? In his THIRD season he went 0-8 in SEC play, which hadn't been done in 30 years. And his successor went on to two bowls in three years (cue the "With Orgerons players!" bullsh*t)

So what you guys want is a young, proven, non-smoking saint who can change the program for $800K a year? Not going to happen. Personally, I'd be satisfied with a guy that showed some passion and personality with a vision of something other than the status quo. LOL....spit my water up reading that.....good post.

If SDSU had an opening, they would be foolish not to take a good, long look at Orgeron. He could bring in talent to this program big time. He has that rep.
One would hope if he WERE here, he would make strong hires at OC and DC (not to mention the rest of the staff).
But....we don't have an opening. Nor will we this off season.
