SDFF, The site ( www.partletonsports.com ) is a treasure trove of info about the history of High School sports teams in San Diego County and CIFSDS. I like the "More Articles" area and love to read about teams and their coaches from seasons gone by like the article about 1927. |

Unfortunately, now I can see just how many times Patrick Henry went to the finals in football and STILL have never won a title--even when they had over 4,000 students with just sophomores, juniors, and seniors. |

Unfortunately, now I can see just how many times Patrick Henry went to the finals in football and STILL have never won a title--even when they had over 4,000 students with just sophomores, juniors, and seniors. 1972 if I remember right. Lost 8-7 to Grossmont in the mist at the Q. Grossmont had 1 drive all night against the great Patriots D and it was something like 99 yards. The Patriots earlier had defeated Grossmont 20-0 in one of the first games of the year. In all Patrick Henry had 4 or 5 shutouts on the season. Also when Ricky Williams was there when they got drilled by Morse. Those two are off the top of my head. |

Henry was in the finals in 1971 grossmont lost 8-7, 1973 Kearny 35-13, 1974 Vista lost 32-0 in the fog 1994 Morse lost 13-0 (Williams) The 1970s and 80s were controlled by helix, Morse, Vista (no rbv) and almost 4,000 students and Sweetwater.
