Great game all around. Glad to see him make those FT's too. He's getting better every game.

Lots of finger rolls after getting good penetration.
I wish he would dunk it.

Without this guy this could've been much worse. Thames had a rough, cold night.

Did anyone analyze his eyes during his FTs? Was he talking or not talking?

The Oracle had been hating on Shepard this season, but the Oracle must admit that he did have a great game tonight. Hope this game continues to help build his confidence.
On a slightly different topic, the one thing that drives the Oracle crazy about Shepard's game is that he doesn't have a soft touch. Sometimes it seems like he's throwing the ball at the basket. Is the Oracle the only person that is catching this?

In response to the Oracle, Mr. WeGoHard has noticed that Shepard has a tendency to throw the ball a little too hard at the glass. Mr. WeGoHard has noticed that Shepard has improved his aggressiveness and that his confidence in improving with every game. However, Mr. WeGohard must admit that it would be nice if Shep would throw it down instead of trying to lay it in every time.

There's only one real Oracle.
People can imitate, but can't duplicate.

You are right we did have two Jamaals ... and I believe we will see more of that. Now if he could line himself up for the rebounds like Jamaal, we could avoid games like tonight.

The Goaztecs1977 thought Shepherd and Franklin were the 2 best Aztecs tonite and that it may be time to start Shepherd over JJ. The Goaztecs1977 also wonders whether The orcle's co-workers refer to him as The Ass-Oracle

A simply beautiful game on offense. His development with the ball through half of a season. is probably the best we've seen out of a freshman in the Fisher era. He is doing much better.
However...
His half court D and defensive rebounding need a lot more work. And by a lot, I mean A LOT. He was party to the 2 other Aztecs down the stretch who got caught watching the game without a ticket and let the Rebels put in 6 crucial points off of offensive rebounds. It was really tough to watch.

It was really tough to watch. I saw something else. He was pretty much our best defender by far (or Sky) tonight. Did you see him on Bennett? That right there proved he can guard anyone. The offensive rebounds were a result of multiple other issues---guys collapsing on the shooter, not boxing out, etc. It certainly didn't appear to be because of Shepard's lack of defense.

Very impressed with Shep's aggressiveness. Didn't hesitate to drive the lane and draw the foul. Not only that, he's really cut down on his turnovers and made some great defensive plays. HUGE improvement on free throws. And yes, it was like there were 2 Jamaals out there. Especially in the first half when he and Jamaal were able to get the Rebels in early foul trouble.

Our best play all night was WS III drives to the hoop, misses the shot, got fouled and made both. I just wish that once in a while he would make the shot and give us the opp for a three point play. Can't seem to finish when he gets to the hole....
This was definitely his coming out party and a big red flag to future opponents. We didn't lose anything when X left the floor last night. In fact, we were better.
