Worst stadium in college football I have said it before and I will continue to say it; building our own SDSU owned FB stadium is a huge piece in the puzzle for Aztec football success. SDSU builds Viejas and hires a solid coach and a decade later look at what basketball has accomplished. If SDSU didn't build Viejas it doesn't get Steve Fisher nor does it attain the success it has in basketball. Quality Facilities + Quality Coaches = Quality Recruits + Athletic SuccessThis applies to FB, Basketball and all other sports.

Where do we get the $500 or so million to build a new stadium, and where do we build it? Seems like too tall a task...I would love to see it done though. I think it would change the program forever...

When we won the bowl in 2010, there was excitement starting the 2011 season. Rocky went 8-4 and some of those losses were deflating. Then we lost the NO Bowl and 2012 started all over again. Just as 2013 will as well. Unless Rocky finally wins another bowl, this pattern will repeat itself. Very true. It's all about momentum. If we won this game, we would have 10 wins, we would have won 8 in in a row, and finally won a big-time prime time bowl game against a quality opponent. Now, we start over again.

We're not going to build a GD football stadium, why would we, so what, 20k at best will go through the turnstiles. Get fluffin real some of you.

No idea how we get the $$ (maybe I will win the lottery and donate $200 million . 3 potential spots on campus... Hardy Elementary, Alberts apartments peninsula or grass area & music bldg (relocate). Otherwise at current site of Q. Size would not have to be greater than 40k (as tonight's game is an indicator of); expandable to 50k in the future. Yes, and I too think it would change the face of the Aztec Football program as we know it forever... Game Changer IMO.

This was a great year for us. Quality wins against Nevada and Boise State (both on the road). Great year! Poinsettia Bowl was icing on the cake and a great reward for our players. Can't wait for next season! Go Aztecs!

Reasons:
1. Buying season tickets has not been made important by the school or community
2. Lugie knew you had to loss leader season tix and create a presence at games. We must use this approach again
3. Game day experience sucks for average fan.
4. Most San Diego fans don't understand winning football. Half the fans would rather lose and score a lot of points then win with disciplined, tough football. Many fans will not come to see winning football unless there is a star quality to it.
5. Terrible student participation equals terrible young alumni participation. The school must put way more effort into having a controlled, spirited and participatory atmosphere for all games.

One of the worst Aztec FB games I've ever had to watch. I even said so while they were still winning…

You can kiss off attendance for 2013. This is the 2nd time in a row Rocky lost a bowl. Winning games only during the season means nothing. Bowl wins are like NCAA wins in basketball. Has he ever won one? I think so, but I can't remember it. He beat UNR in the NM Bowl like five years ago. That's his only bowl win against six losses. Bad enough to be 1-6 in bowl games but after failing to come close to covering the point spread tonight, Rocky is now a terrible 2-5 against the betting line. By ignoring that trend and the fact we were playing BYU, I lost $200 on the Aztecs. Stupid is as stupid does.

Has he ever won one? I think so, but I can't remember it. yea one against that worthless program in Reno that beats fewer decent teams than we do. I'm no Pebble Long fan, but he isn't the problem - we have subpar talent and subpar fans - SDSU football isn't a train wreck, it's one of the push carts on the train track being run over by a train in old movies and cartoons. Football as a whole is train wreck, it is unsustainable long term in its current state, just from a liability standpoint it will continue to cost schools more and more to have teams and athletes pay the highest price of playing a barbaric sport, used to love it, played it, now I would rather have a decent pair of knees, when your a young man you don't understand the toll (neck, back, shoulder, elbow, knees etc.) the sport will continue to take on you as you age, not cool to have to take painkillers on a daily basis in your 40s

Fans weren't going to go to the regular season games next year whether we won or lost. it's a bowl game in San Diego for San Diego state and there were still only 35,000 people in attendance (reported, not necessarily actual). of those, a good portion were BYU fans. So in our own home stadium in our own home town, we still managed to only put in 20,000 locals. winning the game wasn't going to change or increase home attendance next year anyway.

Dear Whiners:
STFU. We shared a conference title when nobody expected us to do jack. We beat BSU on the Smurf turf giving them their second home loss in forever and Nevada at Reno, which is nothing to sniff at. This was a good year. A bowl win would've made it a great year.

This will hurt recruiting and attendance. That's what losses do. And we've had WAY too many loses in total over the past 20 years, and "big stage" losses. Boise State is the only relatively big win, over a "big" team that we've had for many years. This loss and the uninspired way we lost it, just sets us back.

This constant complaining about the attendance needs to just stop. The reported attendance was 35K because that's how many actually came through the gates. Was it a great crowd? No. However, you're wrong in saying there were 15K BYU fans. I'd estimate 10K. Less than a number of regular season games in which we hosted BYU that I've been to. The 5:00 KO time on what for San Diego was a cold weekday evening had a lot to do with that for them as well as us.
