So it appears we are in the final 5 for all of them. Out of the three, which order do you want these guys and where would these guys fit in next year, if at all, if they did come here? I think 1. Wade 2. Allen 3. Rooks. I almost dont want any of them in hopes of reloading majorly in 2014 or with transfers. Wade would be the only one I think would have a good future and thats down the road like junior or senior year.

1. Wade 2. Allen Jr
3. Rooks
I would offer the top 2 schollys, and where do you see we are in final 5 for each? Rooks didn't even mention SDSU in the latest scout article.

Agreed plus Rooks is not too athletic. There's some good big men coming up next class year. I made a topic for us to look at some of them that SDSU should look at, www.aztecmesa.proboards.com/index.cgi?board=recruiting&action=display&thread=27004

Allen Jr is the son of former SDSU basketball player Leonard Allen who played in here in the 80’s. They now live in Texas and he plays at Round Rock but they lived in San Diego until he was in 6th grade. He’s around 6’11” with a 7’6” wingspan and reports say his doctor thinks he could get up to around 7’2”. There’s limited video on him but from the limited video it shows he’s still developing but seems to have strong fundamentals and a good shot. I’d say maybe less athletic than Manker but very limited video so that could be completely wrong. He has a younger brother who’s a freshmen and is 6’8”.

Well, SDSU is going to need a scorer next year in a bad way. We lose Rahon, Tapley, Stephens and Franklin (most likely). At best Shrigley would fit in the Rahon role off the bench as a scorer. I image that Thames may end up taking more of a scoring role - especially when both he and Shepard are on the floor together (which I would expect as both of them will be starters). Therefore, I guess that would be Wade.

Is Shepard good enough defensively to move to the 1? That would move Thames to 2 (more scoring) and Shrigley to 3. Does this sound ridiculous or necessary?

The guy needs to shed at least 20 pounds for him to be effective at the Collegiate level.

It would be nice if JF is back next year, but if not, X can definitely handle a bigger scoring load. His outside shot is Tapley-like and he can manufacture his own shot inside as well ~

Not as a redshirt freshman he won't be. To expect that Shrigley will come in next season pick up the slack of Tapley (for example) is not realistic. I can see him having a career (from a production standpoint) similar to Tapley, but not in his first season. That is why I think he can be similar to Rahon (in role) as a scorer off the bench.

Believe Wade's team is playing in a H.S. Tournament in Hawaii , while the Aztecs are there.( Findlay Prep, Montrose & Oak Hill).Rooks will be playing in the Torrey Pines Tournament. The Red- Shirt year for Shrigley could be benefitial for him learning offense and working on his outside shot . X - could continue to work on his outside shot also during the summer and we have opportunity to see the new Aztec PG recruit in the Torrey Pines National Division. The offense could also shift ,to one similar to the one we had, with M. Thomas, B. White, K.Leonard.

Shrigley and Rahon are different players. Rahon averaged 29 ppg in high school and I believe Shrigley was 9 below that...and we know how challenging it has been for Rahon to develop as a scorer at the NCAA D1 level. While Shrigley can jump and play more physical, he is not a scoring force. He scores off the pass/pick, but can't necessarily create well. Moral of the story...I wouldn't assume Shrigley to pick up THAT much of the scoring, but I sure hope he can figure a way to hit double figures quickly. Losing Tapley + JF + Rahon + Stevens is 48 ppg. Ouch!

Right now Rahon is much better, experience wise, defensively, and more offensive tools and tricks... but Shrigs as a 5th year senior will be by far the greator player than Rahon as a 5th year

I'd love to see Allen Jr. come to the Mesa and then Cage Jr. in a few years. gotta start reeling in all these talented legacies.
