I think it is pretty funny that some posters on this board have ripped Azeem Victor for his de-commit from SDSU. People saying things like "karma is a bitch" and talking about his and his family's lack of character. Yet when we get a kid who has de-commited from a school in favor of SDSU, such as Joe Morrow, nobody says a word about it. A lot of us on this board had to make a similar choice for our college destination. A lot of us choose SDSU, some of us did not. Everyone weighed the pros and cons with their parents or counselors or whoever and made the decision based on numerous factors. Hell, some of us may have even "verbally committed" to a school while waiting to see if we got into this other school. Or maybe we took campus visits and another school became our new frontrunner. We all had the right to do this and so do these kids.

This from the ESPN scouting report on Joe Morrow...
" We see an explosive receiver/running back capable of creating big plays whenever he touches the ball. Morrow is an exciting athlete with the toughness and athleticism to earn early playing time at the BCS level of play."

Morrow reminds me of Gale Sayers running away from everyone.

There is also already an entire thread dedicated to victor I wasn't talking about Zumajames, I was talking about others on the board. I can name drop but I won't. My post was about Morrows commit. I am not shaming the whole board, just the select few who feel ill will toward any 17 or 18 year old kid, not just Victor. If you are not one of those people, then I was not talking about you. I was simply stating a fact. Nobody is talking about his character for de-committing from CMU, which should stay that way, because it has nothing to do with character. It is a CHILD and his family making the best decision for his future.

Jesus. Its recruitng fans are going to be disappointed when we lose a recruit.
Victor brought some of the backlash on himseld by the decisions he and his father made. He secretly committed to u dub, while still being committed to sdsu.
Im not sure how morrow handled the situation with central michigan, but it would be really hard to handle it worse than victor.

De-commit from SDSU = Bad character and bad person De-commit to SDSU = Good character and good person
Some do tend to be pretty over the top on these young kids who are trying to make the biggest decision in their lives. It may not just be about the sport but also the education and environment they want. Even though I am disappointed when a kid de-commits I wish them well and hope we kick their team's ass if we ever play them! ;D

^^^ Well said. Can this thread be back to these 2 guys? I am excited about both of them. Watson is huge and I hope he gets PT as a frosh. Morrow is super fast and would make a great DB.

Watson looks like a beast, has some great film. Not sure of the competition in the Chicago area Catholic League, but looks to be pretty explosive.

Both are all-state Very nice, I am really starting to feel pretty good about the staffs ability to find their guys. It will be interesting to see how the team looks after 2 or 3 years in the BE. Only time will tell. Seems a bit odd that we are going after so many out of staters. I am not complaining, it gives us national exposure, but Rocky always says they start in SD and move out. I assume that either the talent close to home is down or that the BE money gives us a bigger recruiting budget to go and get these types of guys. It is probably a combination of both.

Espn loves morrow, not one negative comment on is write up.
Rate him a 79, our highest recruit. 13the best in illinois, 60th best. Wr in country. The write up literally gushed about him.

Really is good to see players coiming from all over the country. I think it means that San Diego State is getting more positive exposure and visibility. Kids love to go away to college. Why not San Diego!

Rivals list 21 players from Chicago. SDSU leads with 2 commitments. Only Mich State and Illinois from Big 10; others to MAC. Have a feeling that football has fallen to wayside in Chicago.

I'm done with visits and camps. I'm a Chippewa now.' The Chicago native added that he would turn down any offers from BCS-level programs . . ." These two kids are really good gets and I'm glad to have them. And to repeat, I hold absolutely no animosity toward Azeem Victor, nor should anybody else here.

Devante Lee, 6'6"/230 weakside linebacker, is still scheduled to come 1/12/12 to visit. He is only remaining Chicago player we are looking at.

Aside from Ohio St., I’m guessing we could be playing an Illinois school in the near future or a school from the Central region.

But with that said, there are some recruiting stuff that deserves disdain. Universities pulling schollies after an injury. Universities saying they are recruiting a kid for position a and then they show up for camp and are ushered over to position b. Universities playing up their buddies with no intent to offer but influence the real target. Kids telling the University and supporters to show up their Signing Ceremony because it is going to be awesome only to see them pick some school like UO. Just sign up for UO and don't string people along and I couldn't care less you did not choose State. A kid commiting and then telling everyone that this was his dream school and that he is going to do everything to get the best talent in the county to come with him, only to go to CAL and commit on the spot. Keep your mouth shut and decommit and go to CAL and I couldn't care less that you did not choose state. etc...... in the end it is not the decision to commit, decommit, or join the army to get away for a while, it is about how you handle your business.
