the Big East entry fee was originally supposed to be $2.5 million for boise, but was reduced by 500k because they are paying the Big West $2.5 million (over five years).
edit: Boise will also provide $750 k annually in travel subs. so over the first five years (if they stay that long), the BW will earn $6.25 million from these Donks of yours

True, thanks for the compliment titan! Nice you SDSU grads can read. It was borngtr who wrote, incorrectly that arrogant bastard is a good beer. It's piss water. Not sure a 7+% ale would be considered piss water. Try Stone's Double Bastard when it comes out seasonally. Drink two 22oz of that and you will do the catfish swerve. As far as the thread goes, glad to see Boise get in. Wouldn't mind another decent program get in as well.

All I needed to know about people's opinion of beer on this board were the following statements:
Arrogant Bastard is piss water
I like Blue Moon
Pretty much sums it up. Enjoy your Coors Light. I'll be at hamilton's.

I'm not exactly thrilled about this announcement either. But right now you guys have more important issues to deal with. Why did Bob Burton step down, anyway? He struck a player at the BWT. Nobody is saying anything because of possible lawsuits. But, that's what happened. What team do you root for? Sent from my PantechP9070 using proboards

SDSU, Long Beach, UCSB, Hawaii & Boise...fairly decent foundations of a legitimate conference. Would love to see us all in one division within the conference, but Long Beach seems a little leery of the competition?

And in other news the sky is blue, water is wet, LB fans are delusional, SDSU are arrogant bastards, SB fans are drunk tortilla throwers. We're not all arrogant bastards, you know... My parents had been married for a couple years before my arrogant ass came into this world. But you are right about one thing... most Gauchos are a bunch of corn tossers. And they throw tortillas on the court, too.

you are once again talking about things you don't understand. Listen child, Fat Tire > Arrogant bastard. Sam Adams > arrogant bastard and those are 2nd tier beers. Enjoy your piss water while tailgating at the Murph, before watching your sorry football team get killed in the new MWC. Doesn't now $#!+ about beer if he thinks Sam Adams is better than Stone.

I was impressed at times watching Boise St. last year - remember, they had a shot at the buzzer to beat us on the Mesa, and they took the Rubles into OT. These kids are young and can ball, and their continued rise in the near term and membership in Big Lots are both strides towards improving our new MBB home.
Oh, wait... I forgot - we're derailing the thread because of some from CSU Fullertard troll.

so now what? stay put at 11 or go for a Seattle/Denver/Fresno as member #12?? I hope it's go for a Seattle or Denver to expand the media market either into the Rockies or the Pacific Northwest.

No issue going after an 'out of state' school as long as they are sanctioned with the same terms as Boise State...just want to fair and equitable.

I'm not a huge fan of Arrogant Bastard as well but I did have a nice Oaked Arrogant Bastard recently that was quite tasty. Hardly piss water.

If Fresno is added the ratio of non-football schools to football schools evens out at 6:6 and I could see a potentially nasty split taking place similar to what is brewing in the Big East. That's why I want Seattle first, then Denver, then Fresno. No way is NMSU coming back

There is a clause in Boise's membership that if/when SDSU leaves the BW, the BW can give Boise 24 months notice to kick the donks out of the BW!!

Davis & CP will vote with their wallets and still with the other CA schools besides SDSU. Both could have moved up and gone to the WAC, but they didn't want to increase their athletic budget and/or couldn't afford the move up.

Why not? Assuming an equitable model can be put into place to offset travel costs... I'm still a sucker for RPI (NMSU), though both Denver and (to a lessor degree) Seattle are a step in the right direction, and as many have said, both provide a larger media market than do 125K households in New Mexico.

Apparently our basketball coach is one happy camper.
“We added two great things to the conference today,” said Gaucho men’s basketball coach Bob Williams. “We’ve extended our footprint to the great Northwest with the addition of Boise State’s national brand, and we’ve developed a scheduling partnership with the Big East. This is a banner day for the Big West Conference.”
In fact, all of the sports not named volleyball or softball have to be thrilled. Baseball and men's soccer will avoid the hassle of traveling to Boise too, so I guess that's a good thing.

Great, maybe SMU or Houston will come to the Bren, Thunderdump, Matadump, Titan Gym, Pyradump, etc.
