I touched base with Bryan Lee (Marcus' older brother) and he made it pretty clear Fish and co. pressed hard and SDSU was a tough cut. End of day, Duke, Kentucky, UCLA, Indiana, Louisville, and Kansas, represent the historic elite of NCAAB. Tough to knock the list. I forgot that Lee was an Antioch kid. I didn't connect the dots until you mentioned his older brother's name is Bryan. I attended middle and high school with Bryan. He was a solid bball player as well. Best of luck to him and his family.

From what I've read lately, Dakarai is leaning towards UCLA and his Dad is pushing him in that direction. Dakarai was favoring SDSU this summer though, and his strength at defense combined with Shep would make our team incredibly tough to score on. SDSU would be a good fit to showcase his abilities. In regards to Lee, maddiesdad posted recently saying SDSU was going to go after him hard - would be great to land him. What have you read that states allen is leaning towards ucla? In regrds to lee, just today he cut list to 7 schools, sdsu isn't one of them. I actually read the opposite, that Allen is still favoring SDSU. Also, once those schools came in on Lee, I knew we didn't have a chance. If we can get Hamilton...man that would be huge.

So exactly how many scholarships do we have 4/5?? 1. A. Williams transfer 2. Tapley 3. Rahon 4. Stephens 5. Possibly Jamaal So we need 4/5? God I hope some quality transfers emerge. Ok obviously I was way off in my first assessment 1. Hamilton *** The Gem But long shot 2. Allen 3. R. Muhammed 4. D. Johnson - more I read on him, he sounds intriguing 5. J. Bell 6. Point Guard - A must but who ( Clark, J. Taylor, Murray, Alberto, M. Thames) I mean we need to fill possibly 5 spots and we've turned down Prince, Randolph, and January doesn't even list us?? when he was ready to commit last year. I am almost thinking Fish should redshirt L. Franklin this year so at least were covered at PG for 3 more years.

Julian Jacobs just decommited from Utah.
He would be an interesting combo guard to got after for 2013. If cant make the transition to the point, we could leave him at the two. Here is what espn has to say about him;
ESPN Analyst Updated 03/15/2012
Strengths: Jacobs has long arms, big hands, and he is very explosive off the bounce. He can get to the rim (excellent 1st step) off the dribble and either finish or drop off a nifty pass. He is an excellent passer both in the half court set as well as in transition (good vision). His pull-up game is evolving and he'll get better as he gets more on balance while setting up for his shot. Defensively, with his length, lateral quickness, and active hands, he could be a devastating defender at the next level.
Weaknesses: Jacobs is unpolished in certain areas of the game (managing a half court offense) and he can display raw fundamentals (one-handed passes can get careless at times) as well. He has a tendency to play too fast and needs to understand when to push it or pull back when the defense is set.
Bottom Line: Jacobs is a bit rough around the edges in terms of manning the point guard position at the next level. However, Jacobs may have the most potential of any point guard out west for his class. Utah got in early and they got a good one in Jacobs.
