I was waiting for someone to start this thread. While we have a spot open, I just can't see a kid from Florida coming over to SDSU to play one year. Garrett Green was a So Cal kid so it made sense.

UCLA, Arizona, UNLV have all brought in recruits/transfers from the Eastern part of the US. Our program may need to be able to bring in guys from other parts of the country if we want to stay in the top 25. In this case we know we need a strong person down low and have 1 scholarship , he is a senior so same as 1 and done. Can it hurt to have one of the coaches ,make a call . Also believe our coaches have a connection to one of the Miami Heat ,who could put in a good word.

yes we have gotten some good players transferring back to SDSU.But we also need to start getting H.S. recruits from Texas and other states to be able to compete with the best teams in the country. Would be great for Shepard (native Texan ,to give us a lead into the state of Texas) and if Carlwell has any good leads back in IL. UCLA has a former AAU coach from GA. UNLV has a coach with ties from the East Coast. Arizona has a former AAU coach. Bland has been doing a great job . We need more connections to other states.

Ehh I dont really think we need pipelines to other states so much...We're already in one of the biggest states for basketball in America, so why waste our energy, money and plane flights to go recruit some kid on the east coast. Sure it'd be nice to say that we could go grab the 5 star recruit in Indiana or Texas or Florida or wherever, but really that would be just a luxury to us as it is with most programs to get a kid from some random outside state. If a kid from another state is interested, AWESOME lets look into it, but why overlook the players in your own backyard? we're lucky to be located where we are in terms of basketball talent...I gotta believe hitting the California circuit is and will always be priority number one for us.

Agreed, there are so many recruits in so cal it's rediculous. It's takes a serious skill to evaluate a 14 year old and try and guess what type of man he is going to be at 18/19/20.
