Williams leaves so he can get playing time. Quinn had playing time, but transfers to be a bench player. Interesting.

Williams had just one year of eligibility left.
As to Quinn, CSUN won't be challenging for a spot in the Elite Eight or beyond any time soon. Plus the kid still has three years of eligibility so the staff probably told him if he walks on this year and sits out his transfer year and then suits up in 2013-2014 as a walk-on and impresses, he could be given a scholarship for his final two years. Admittedly that's just a guess but it's what makes the most sense to me.

Believe Quinn has played 2 years , so he would have only 2 years remaining after he sits this year- . He did have a 81 % FT.
