He just announced a verbal to USC according to ESPN. Yes, that was already posted in this thread. He as a kid that I thought would be a great Aztec. I can't wait to see what Fisher and Co. have up their sleeve to replace some of these guys that they have apparently backed off on.

This is really disappointing. Honestly, not trying to insinuate anything, but I find it somewhat hard to believe they backed off a recruit such as this. I mean, he is the type of player that fit's the current program to a tee. A relentless beast down low in the post, a tenacious rebounder, shot blocker and lock down defender. The type of recruit that Fish and co. always set their sights on. I know we still have our fair share of eggs in other baskets out there(Allen, Bell, Hamilton ect..) but I am kind of getting an uneasy feeling about the 2013 recruitng class at this point. Especially with all of the inactivity thus far Good news is(assuming the current crop remains in tact for more than 1 year) the program is in very good shape the next couple of years. However, that could turn real fast if they don't start to speed up the process, and land their top targets. Needless to say, Dakarai Allen is a must at this point.

Yeah, I'm with aztecnation76. Unless there's something about Prince that we don't know, it seems like an immense risk to pass on the kid to shoot for some of the top talent in the country. Hopefully it works out but if we miss on some of our other targets...we're going to regret this one.

Aguston at aztecsportsreport.com wrote a great article on this specific topic. You should go read it. sandiegostate.rivals.com/content.asp?CID=1393886 Basically he states that the Aztec coaches were expecting Prince to improve over time, but he just hasn't looked quite like the same player this AAU season. He was able to bully defenders and dominate the lesser competition during high school, but he wasn't able to during the AAU season against higher more elite players.

They were never going to land both Allen or prince. The Aztecs prefer allen, which people who follow high schools hoops on the west coast seem to agree. I think your assement of Prince's game is incorrect. He was going to need to be a wing in college, he doesnt have a great shot, or ball handling. He isnt a shot blocker, and even if he was, its a skill that really wouldnt be used at the wing position.
