The downntown and parking thing is BS so is the it's too expensive. There are ways to get around that. I park in a $5.00 lot that is 8 blocks away and 2 blocks over. My route does not take me to a place I do not feel comfortable taking children or my wife. I get tothe parking area around 6:25. I get two beers place them in a paper cup. I walk to the deli get a sandwich drink my beer on the way and eat the sandwich at the game. 40 game season tickets split between 4 people makes the tickets priced right and I have a good time. Saturday night 5 :35 starts makes it real nice to head downtown for some fun after the game. I f you are somewhat inventive you can always have a good time and not spend a lot. Agreed. Poway always recites the same story when Pads attendance comes up, as if we give a $#!+ that he only goes when he gets free tickets (is that something to be proud of?), and that parking is too expensive and a hassle. I earn well but I am not rich, and I have a 10 month old that costs bucks, but I guess paying $10 at the pay yourself lots isn't a big deal. Try going to a Lakers game.....if you want to talk expensive. And Poway......of course games were cheaper at the Q, 7 friggin years ago. You CAN get a good, non outfield seat, for $30 and thats the going rate these days. If you want to be cheap, sit out in right field pal.

Anyone who feels getting to the game downtown is a hassle, should probably just stay home and watch it on Channel 4 because that person is either too old, wound too tight, or both.
Sounds like a bunch of women.
Oh wait....not even that, as my chick doesn't mind walking a few blocks.

I'm speaking about games in Petco IN RELATION to games at Qualcomm. The thread topic is about some reasons why attendance is lower. As far as the hassle of getting to the stadium a lot of it depends on which direction you're coming from. For me and others near me who have said the same, it's easier getting to Qualcomm than Petco. Especially since I drive right by Qualcomm on the way to Petco. that's simply a fact, not an opinion. As far as $$ to park I clearly said I was OK with the $10 lot two blocks from the park. It's unfortunate that the panhandlers and homeless are always wandering around so in that respect Qualcomm was better. The cost of a ticket jumped significantly the FIRST year they were in Petco, NOT refering to seven years. The cost of a ticket now is higher in relation to average income than it was in the 70s, the time I was refering to when I was in college. Since you weren't born until 1982 you're not really qualified to comment on that as you weren't buying tickets then. Point.........me

Oh Poway STFU already!
The team was predicted to win 60-70 games. Pre-season ticket sales were most likely in the shitter. I imagine single game and walk up sales are up. It's not like the attendance is completely awful......the economy is still not doing well and its not like SD is a sports crazy town anyways.
I doubt the homeless persons and parking situation is keeping the fans away in droves.
