Per twitter, this just keeps getting better. This could only help us right?

Sure can't hurt to be in our own backyard. I'm sure we will see him at many Aztec games this next year.

A year is a long time in recruiting. We were all really excited at the prospect of landing Jarion Henry when he decided to go to La Jolla Prep last year. But if nothing else, this adds a little pressure to our small forward recruits to be the first to commit: Anthony January, Dakarai Allen, Roschon Prince, Stephen Domingo, Paul Watson, etc.

La Jolla Prep and all of its players are a plus for us.

Winston Shepard went to Findlay and he burned Vegas for us so it doesn't mean anything.
From a LJ Waves perspective, this is a huge get for their program in only it's 2nd year of existence.

So if a kid goes to prep school after their senior year in HS, do they basically get to play 5 seasons in HS before going to college?

Methinks our Mr Fisher already made him a 2013 offer he couldn't refuse.

Can someone enlighten me on how prep school works? If this news is true, will he now live in La Jolla or does he have to commute?

Hey thanks for "breaking" this story for us! Can you look into a possible Dillon Baxter story? Haven't seen him around campus lately. Can you look into it for us? Thanks!

He would live locally, they have a house for the players in La Jolla.... it is not cheap to attend most prep schools, and an article on La Jolla Prep a few months ago indicated it is something upwards of $40k per year, and there are no scholarships awarded to go there. I doubt he would commute from LA to LJ every day for class and practice. Prep School is a 1 year thing for post-high school graduates. Designed for kids to either develop both physically as well as overall skills. Prep school is a way around having to go to JC for 2 years for kids who stuggle to qualify out of HS - and still allows for kids to have 5 years of college. Lorrenzo Wade is a prime example. He went to prep school for a year after high school, then played 1 season at Louisville, transferred to SDSU (sat out a year) and played 3 more. That is a total of 6 years of post high school hoops. *EDIT* - per LJ Prep's website, it is $20k for tuition and boarding for post grad high schoolers, $15k for tuition only. www.wavehoops.com/pages/tuitionCan someone enlighten me on how prep school works? If this news is true, will he now live in La Jolla or does he have to commute?

So here you go. This is promising news and the fact he was steered there by SDSU staff (Fact I say). Coach Trousdale was also Jamaal Franklin's coach at West Wind prep in Arizona. Coach Trousdale has a good relationship with the SDSU staff, and this was the perfects pot for a kid who SDSU is interested in and can keep tabs on his academic progress since he will be close.

Good to hear this from you. You and Dave L are the ONLY 'insiders' on this board anyone should trust.
