It should be noted that LBSU is battling UNLV & NM for January. While LBSu deserves most of the credit for raising the profile of their school, SDSU's defection to the Big West seems to be helping too. There has been so much talk about the BW being bad for SDSU and truth of those fears remain to be seen. But, there can be no question it hasn't hurt our recruiting yet. And in the case of January, our move appears to be hurting UNLV/NM recruiting efforts

It is hilarious how no one wants to be a lobo... whats even funnier it's that they are so butthurt about it that they banned me on UNM board for saying AJ new top 2 were UNLV & LBSU.. Go figure. FYI, Pelle has the hobos in his top 5. Alford was watching him along with Fisher and others during his AAU game in Vegas last week. We also were in Deandre Daniels top 5.. we even offered him a scholarship to come play here

He's down to LBSU and UNM. Are you sure it's not LBSU and UNLV? He's down to LBSU and UNM. Would much rather have this guy at LBSU. Would be nice to have two power teams in the Big West. A guy like him could definitely help make the Big West a two-bid league. LBSU & UNLV*** Yeah, yeah. That's what I meant.

LBSU is in January's backyard and they are a good NCAA tourney team. 3. Why would it hurt recruiting when SDSU has yet to step a foot in the Big West? 4. How has UNLV or UNM's recruiting been hurting from SDSU's move?

Answers: 1. Up until 5 hrs ago NM, UNLV, UTEP, & LBSU were his final 4. They were all competing for him 2 & 4. Disagree. SDSU has been January's preference for a year. LBSU has not been in the running for recruits like him until him this season.(as far as I know) While I agree that LBSU has earned his interest on their own and said as much in my original comment, I do find it interesting that a recruit with such strong SDSU ties is the first and only recruit of his caliber to consider LBSU so strongly out of high school. If that assumption is correct, then, in the past NM and UNLV haven't had to compete with another California school. More schools for players hurts recruiting. 3. The theory goes that the MWC is a respected conference & has reached level of the PAC 12 in terms of respect/reputation. Going to the big west that doesnt have the same respect will cause some students to no consider SDSU

January wants to play close to home. That's why he cut UNM and UTEP. LBSU has a good program that made noise last year especially after that Georgetown win. It has nothing to do with the Big Wests profile with SDSU joining them....
I wouldn't really say UNM has a large footprint in California. Not as much as SDSU or UNLV does.

Drew Gordon? Kendall Williams? Tony Snell? Demetrius Walker? Granted Gordon and Walker are transfers, but I'd say they've done pretty well with CA recruits...
