We have the worst LBs and only the 6th best coaching staff? Hmmmm. What do the rest of you think about that?

Guy ranked our oline 5th best in the conference & our linebackers dead last. Surprising.

Unless you're a CSU fan. Add Rivals' ratings for their offense and special teams and you have to wonder whether the Rams will manage to score a TD this year. Thanks for the link. Contrary to many of its OWN rivals, Rivals guys are very knowledgeable, particularly Mike Huguenin. (Anybody who thinks BYU's helmet is the ugliest in the conference is spot on.)

The writer is way more knowledgeable than I expected him to be. Also calls out Umolo. Says he's arguably THE BEST TE in the MWC. Very nice! I like!

And you know there's someone who going come out of no where that going to make them have to change their opinion. And that goes the same for the RB's. Good read, but we won't know until conference play starts.

We lost 2 of our best players last year (not athletes but guys that made plays) at Linebacker, another guy that got a lot of snaps is playing a new position - Linebacker is a question mark, though, I think we'll be at least mediocre there.

By the way, has Hoke allowed Rivals to see any of our practices? I highly doubt it considering the average fan is screened before getting the OK to attend one.
That being the case, what makes Rivals such a guru with their predictions if their source of info is the same as the others? I think they're just basing it on the number of Rival multi-star recruits on our team, and the other teams.

Our players choked big time at the end of the season, and that goes to the coaches. On the other hand, Wyoming never hit the depths we hit in terms of losing mentality so their task was monumentally easier. The Fred Noonan School of Navigation.

These guys have seen none of the MWC teams practice and are solely going by the amount of past experience and the past stats of the players expected to start.

You don't think VB would have had an impact on that Wyoming game? I'm not sold that Lindley can activate 2 or 3 players in a game. This year maybe, last year - no, I think he would have just thrown to brown everytime he could and seeing as he then threw to Sampson every time he could, I think it was a wash.

I don't know man, Brown is by FAR the best player on the team and to just gloss over his loss... I think the BYU game last year was an example of them clicking at the same time.

This year maybe, last year - no, I think he would have just thrown to brown everytime he could and seeing as he then threw to Sampson every time he could, I think it was a wash. Agree, but we'll see about this year. I posted then and still believe now that Brown's injury might have been the best thing ever to happen to Lindley because it taught him that there's more than one receiver on the field. With that tunnel vision, his arm alone can put up 400 against a vastly weaker team. Not so against the better ones. This year will be better for him and the team. I think Lindley has such a strong motor that he was going to get there eventually (and I think much of Lindley's horrid 1st possesion stretch was wanting it too bad and trying to be the leader and game-winner as a soph.) - and, if anything brown going down just showed him that I can lock onto a guy and throw him the ball when i get a chance; I think what it showed to DeMarco is he has elite ability that he let go to waste, and so instead of dogging routes (which dude did a lot in the past) he might run through them full speed this year after being the man and finally showing his promise and so if Lindley does have the mind to be a QB and not just the arm and touch, the offense could be deadly. Hell, I might just line them both up on the same side and simplify it for Lindley

So how come we have the best receivers when our recruiting is not so good? If we start winning our recruiting should jump up big time. We have to out recruit 5 schools in our conference and then out coach the other 3.
It would seem our coaches should help win some games for a change.
I don't remember can games where Don Coryell was out coached. We lost because we ran out of fresh players. He said our stating 11 had to be as good as the others schools starters. I remembering him saying we needed a second 11 that were good to have any chance to win big games. We could not get more then 55 scholarships with just Jr. College guys transferring in. We could give 30 a year, but some guys dropped out so we may have had 25 lest at the end of a season, and then give our 30 more for 55 total.
Now the big schools could have 120 plus more with walk on's.
So we are not at a disadvantage any more, and we all thought we could catch up with them, but never did in quality.
