Anyone who questions a player like him being a preferred walk on is crazy.

Keith played through 3 games his senior season prior to a season-ending knee injury. He was a 2 way starter at LB/DE and FB and a team captain. His junior year he rushed for approx 1,000 yds with 16 tds (max preps) - leading all CA FBs and a team captain. He was heavily recruited prior to the senior year injury - SDSU was one of the few D1 schools that kept significant interest - word is that SDSU was always Keith's No 1 choice. This info is well-known in Nor-Cal - a number of articles on him in the Sacramento Bee, Nor-Cal Preps, etc, - he went under the radar after the injury. SDSU coaches, alums, fans will pleasantly surprised - he is an old-school hard-nosed gamer. Great to hear that he's a good kid with a motor - hope it pays dividends and he's got a scholly and PT down the road.

Thanks coachte for the update. Since I was only able to make it to the Roseville game (end of the regular season), I never did get a chance to see him play. Watching him walk around on the sidelines, though, I saw no indications of a limp or favoring one leg or the other, so I would guess his knee is recovering okay.

All indications are that he is rock-solid. It's been my experience that a common theme with many of these athletes that (unfortunatley) are put through trials such as a season-ending injury, especially in a senior season, come back with something to prove to themselves and everyone else - I believe that's the case here.

Friends, I've read through this whole thread from front to back...and began to smile and nod my head about 1/3 of the way down. I have been following this kid throughout his football career, while watching about 75% of his live HS games. He is a beast and is extremely hard to take down. Simply put, he either lowers his head and shoulders to run up the gut to guarantee 1st downs or he jukes, bolts up the field for TDs. Either way, he either drags bodies with him for 10-15 addtl yards or noone can catch him. He simply DOES NOT go down. He's currently 6'1", about 215 lbs, and he's not done growing yet. Scary thought. To answer a lot of the questions many of you had about his senior season....he missed almost all of it with an injury. What he did have, though, were 3 amazing seasons before that, having gained over 1,000 yrds rushing his junior year alone. Trust me when I tell you that he will not disappoint any of you Aztec faithful. You all obviously love your Aztec football. He's a very special player and athlete. Wait and see for yourself. "Old School", you got it right in your assessments (nice research finding those game film of Connor). Attachments:

To coachte and prokeith, welcome to the board and thanks for the additional info. He sounds like the perfect player for our system and mentality! Guys like thus make a difference.
From the comments here, I could see him in a Chad Young FB role or even a potential Aztec Back.

As a walkon, he looks to me like he may be the right guy at the right time and right place for both he and SDSU. If so, I suspect that at some point he will deserve to have his college pretty much paid for with a scholarship.

I;ve always enjoyed watching him plow through defenders. De-cleating is a norm. His play and work ethic will make believers out of doubters.

Unless maxpreps didn't list it all, those are his complete season stats Chad Young rushed 16 times for 43 yards and had 11 receptions for 63 yards Guys, he was injured after a couple of games his senior season sat out to rehab. If he had those stats after a FULL season of play, I'd agree with you. But, there's the answer to your questions.

After watching the videos he obviously gained more than 115 yds. If he's walking on why would any one be against him, got size and some speed. RB>LB? FB, LB, and DE

Connor was at SDSU this past Tuesday meeting with several of his coaches including Coach Ludwig and Coach Horton - he'll be at SDSU Summer training with the rest of the new recruits beginning in July. He's extremely excited, actually when I saw him he was frothing at the mouth he was so anxious to be an Aztec - guaranteed he is ready to rock and roll! Go Aztecs!!!!
