Some notes on the interview:
*Good nucleus when they first got here. Need to get deeper. *Lower INT from Lindley, raise completion percentage and overall leader *Talked a little about Vincent Brown and Demarco Sampson. Geared to give them opportunity to showcase skills *Ronnie Hillman, big play, quick stop and go. *OL, primary focus, improve running game. *Praise for Aaron Wellmen(sp?) *Brandon Sullivan move to FB. Still gonna get the ball some. Part of passing game in pass protection as well as catching. *schedule: nichols st-new coach, said they will have athlethes. "One game, then the next"
And one more question about the nfl and specifically one of his former players at auburn. *Question about jason campbell from the raiders. Real talent
Ben did a good job on the interview, pretty standard and nothing crazy like kaplan.

Another quick note, every time 1360 comes back from break and has a SDSU interview they always play the fight song, always awesome to hear! Good job Ben (if you're on here)

great idea getting the coaches on the radio we need all the good PR and opportunity to sell tickets we can get- would it hurt if they asked the host what games they were coming out to see the team play

Thank you and actually I think I will put YOU on a Pulque (or Mezcal) diet exclusively. Once your sanity returns, tequila will be administered.. ;D

Al is a really good interview. He brings a lot of energy and doesn't stick to as many coach cliches as Hoke. They sould feature this guy with the press more often.

Yea, Borges is a good interview - I enjoy listening to him because he is such a student of Offense and he had a quote in the paper or one of these interviews how they were going to use a lot of 2 back and do a lot of stuff that was 15-20 years old but splice it with modern twists -- he doesn't just sit with an offense, or just abandon it for the offense du jour, but has his base offense and infuses it with wrinkles like his use of Ronnie Brown in the Wildcat and airing it out at UCLA. He is one of the better old school Offensive minds.

I really like this staff including Borges. It is evident that he spent the offseason thinking about how to use the talent he has at his disposal.

It's too bad we won't have this staff as currently constituted for much more than another year. Who leaves first?

It's too bad we won't have this staff as currently constituted for much more than another year. Who leaves first? This is certainly my fear. It is such a great staff. Borges is aching for a head coaching position. Rocky Long, he's been at the top, how long will he be content as a sideman?

Long has done the HC thing, I think he's more than happy to be back coaching and leaving all the HC stuff for others.

Assistants leaving are a GREAT thing. They won't be leaving unless we are winning. I can see Borges leaving for a WAC job IF we win this year. He deserves the shot and I wouldn't begrudge him at all. There are quite a few capable guys out there who can run an offense.
As to Rocky, he has pretty much intimated that he does not want to be a HC anymore. Only place I see him going is to a top-tier BCS school as a D-coordinator.

With more experience under their belt; with bigger, stronger and faster players as a result of their off-season workout and conditioning, I'm looking forward to seeing our offense put up some big numbers.

Utah, Byu, Tcu, and other successful programs seem to always have solid staffs. They hold them together by winning and replacing good people that get poached (happens everywhere) with other good people. My bet is that Hoke and co. feel that if they can get this thing going - multiple solid winning seasons - their limit here would be sky high. I believe they think they can reach very high in ranking and be a Tcu/Boise type of program. Of course they would never be so dumb as to actually it to others, but I have a strong feeling that's their expectation and goal. This thinking could keep a strong staff together a longer time than if it were not the case.

Borges is in that area where he might be perceived as a a career top assistant. Who knows if Rocky wants back, his last press conference he seemed like someone who was done. If we win with this staff, I think we can retain them; let's just win and see how it works out
