I love the fact that Fish calls out schools are afraid to play us when he does radio & TV interviews.

I love the fact that Fish calls out schools are afraid to play us when he does radio & TV interviews. Fish is the man and has brass balls! He has proven that ever since he got here.

I love the fact that Fish calls out schools are afraid to play us when he does radio & TV interviews. Is he trying to play them every year, or only when he has a top 30 team in the country?

These are my thoughts on SDSU being a sweet 16 team. I have watch A TON of college basketball over a long period of time and I tend to think that in any given year there are probably 25 (some years maybe more, some less) that can legitimately aspire to the sweet 16. Just because we are one of the real contenders for this prestigious group does NOT mean that it will for sure happen. Many, many things have to go just right and along with the necessary talent a fair amount of good luck is required. With so many variables; schedule, which of our opponents get on a hot streak (individuals or teams), who beats who before they play us, illness, injuries at key positions at critical times, if we go all out defensively, the list goes on and on. I certainly don't think I am any kind of expert (and I am a huge optimist), but demanding a sweet 16 appearance because we are good is over the top. jmo Well said. I would add to the list match ups. The worse team can win simply because personnel or style matchs up better with some teams. I agree about match-ups, but that is the strength of this years team. Barring multiple injuries, this years team has a wide variety of skill-sets, with great depth, the Aztecs should be able to match-up with any style, big, small, up tempo, half-court, etc.. This is not not the year to be shy or have guarded optomism, the Aztecs are stacked with quality, depth, expirence and leadership. They are being mentioned as a preseason top 25 team, and by the time the tourney arrives this group will be battle tested. This is the year we've been waiting for, no more than 5 losses, a high seed in the tourney and a sweet 16 run!

I think it’s great that many of our fans are expecting our beloved Aztecs to go past the 1st and 2nd rounds in the NCAA Tourney. We’ve never been a position before where expectations run high. With our current team, there’s certainly a very high probability that we’ll finally notch our first tourney victory. However, keep in mind why it’s called the March Madness ‘coz anything can and will happen. No one knows how and where the ball might just bounce. With a little luck, we can be either this year’s version of the Butler team or the past highly ranked Arizona teams that went one-and-done.

I love the fact that Fish calls out schools are afraid to play us when he does radio & TV interviews. It was more of a playful jab at D. Smith who is a St John's grad and fan. Fish was askig D. Smith to pull some strings. Regardless Fish is the man and is a great interview who always represents the school very well.
