I still like this kid: jcfootball.scout.com/a.z?s=87&p=8&c=1&nid=4070427. . . and I wish to heck Derrick Dooley would pull his head out and release him from his scholarship so Hoke and company could recruit him.* (Dooley also won't release Bryce Brown and since Brown was the most coveted tailback in the country a year and a half ago, there's no doubt that everybody in the world is going to use it against Tennessee. Couldn't happen to a more deserving fan base, of course.) * Just curious if anybody knows whether the fact Dooley won't release him means he won't burn a year or eligibility and would therefore still have three playing years remaining rather than just two. Nevermind: The point is moot since Lamaison has apparently bounced back to Mt. SAC for a second season there: mbd.scout.com/mb.aspx?s=87&f=2909&t=6179775

Could have been worse, like 1 one 4 years. I'm guessing you're talking Craft, I think Mougey could have been a pretty good one if he didn't have KO ahead of him (he lit it up when he came in before getting hurt). But, likewise, Craft another QB, did a horrid job either bringing in or developing back-up QBs, 7 years of basically only having a first string qb is a problem. No, I was referring to his successor.

Considering that Chuck Long only had two full years to recruit and recruited Ryan Lindley in one of those years.......Why is this such a shock? Especially since he was behind the 8 ball with OLineman and Dlineman and had to spend most of the two full years he recruited on those two positions.

So he has two QB's on this roster, one a Junior and one a freshman.

These are 3 redshirt Frosh QBs....not true freshmen. They have been with this staff as long as Ryan has. Let's not assume they can't contribute.........true Frosh QBs have been helping other teams around the country last year.......i.e. Wyoming. He led the Cowchips all year, was the primary guy in defeating us and then led them to a bowl victory. We need to start thinking that true Frosh and RSFrosh don't necessarily mean an empty uniform. Indeed, if the Freshman comes from a good high school program that teaches the QB to read defenses and modify the passing game accordingly (Coryell's greatest contribution to the game after he invented the I formation.). They can come into a program like Wyoming runs and quickly learn. It is not that hard. Still, some kids just can not make the reads.

Tom Craft did an excellent job of developing QB's. He had $#!+ in the pipeline when he took over, and brought in some excellent talent. That talent proved how lethal it could be when the Offensive line which was essentially Freshmen and JC transfers in 2004 proved that it could block against BYU in the 2005 game. They held their own against Utah in that season, too. Not only was OC performing in magnificent fashion, but there was a QB in the pipeline after Moogey, and that was Kevin Craft. We were loaded when Tom was fired. Remember, Tom had to bring Five JC linemen in because Teddy left him almost no viable linemen in the program. There was no problem with the three deep talent level at QB in 2005.

He was not any good.

Didn't you already say that above? Yes, please don't make me repeat it . What, that most of the starters this year will be Chuck Long recruits and that he has two of his QB recruits in the top 4 on this team? And that Brady Hoke (who I like a lot) will go to the first bowl game for the Aztecs in years with Chuck Longs players? Do what you want Aztech. It won't stop me, only encourage me.

Then buy your buzzer...Your "Long Hater" buddies are the ones that can't stop talking about it. I have a feeling that Chuck Long will be a topic on this board for a LOOOOONNNNNG time.

The Sporting News is predicting that this year's Holiday Bowl will feature Washington against Kansas.
Time to get your tickets while there are still good seats available, Steve.

I think he threw 6 interceptions that game, 3 or 4 returned for a touchdown, 3 interceptions in a row, one brought back inside the 10. Seriously, I have never had more fun at a game, or seen a situation where the coaches and players are laughing and the crowd is booing the offense for getting a first down.
