Here's a dog days of summer thread/poll. We've had some pretty annoying fans from other teams come on to our site. Especially when some big games were coming up. Was wondering who you all thought was the worst. Tennessee gets my vote. Their fans were more annoying than flies at a picnic prior to our first round game. What say you? Thank goodness for the few decent ones we get (Borg, Yoda, etc.). Otherwise, a lockout might be in order As a whole, I have to say MWC fans are pretty decent and seem to be way more tolerable than other conferences (SEC fans are intolerable). Any bad ones I left out in the poll?

I voted for the first choice just like those before me. Everybody else may have had some penis posters at times, but they've also had some good guys. Tennessee Fan has been here just once and half of them made racist, ethnically discriminatory or anti-gay comments and thought they were just funny as hell in doing so. Nothing like trying to convince us that Southerners are a bunch of bigots. (They're not, but you wouldn't know it from those yahoos.)

Tennessee: a lot of racist, sexist, homophobic bigots; one of their sparsely populated boards was really good though, and I conversed back and forth with their version of Aztec Bill and he was a good guy, but just way too much slime.

I have not run in to any bad UT fans, but they have fans from the Mountains in the East. They also have 5 times as many fans as we have so that gives then what might look like a lot of bad fans. They also have more old timers and more fans that never went to College.
I don't like Stuck up Vanderbilt fans and I think many of you would have over for dinner a lot of USC fans. What do you thing about them and they all have those powerful degrees?
Getting subjective on topics is a how you feel thing and may not be provable.
Vanderbilt fans get UT fans off their porches by paying for the pizza.

Steve and Nashville,
You guys really don't remember the Vols posters from the NCAAs? Now I know you don't label an entire fanbase from a few posters, but in the context of the question asked, there is no question that the Volunteer fans have been our most notorious guests.

I don't Andre. It could be that I wasn't reading the board much at that time. I'm not excusing them, but would like to read some of it before I make a decision. I know many from Tennessee and all I know are very good people.

Guests like the new neighbor from across the street you invite over for a cocktail to get acquainted and he walks around farting loudly and disparaging your furniture and your family. Steve, FYI, they started making fun of our PG's sexual orientation based on his last name. Then there were derogatory comments about how many of our kids were lowlifes from the 'hood in L.A. (inaccurate, but that's what they said). As I recall, the N-word was thrown around a time or two, with the explanation it was all in fun. Then when an Aztec said something about how would they like it if we went on their board and said something offensive like that about their team, one responded that they do the same to themselves all the time. Specifically one said something to the effect of Gee, we regularly comment about our coach being a Jew. I don't like political correctness and therefore have a problem with making all ethnically tinged jokes verboten. However, their comments weren't the least bit witty if that's what they were trying to be and even had they been, their tenor was just offensive, I thought. (Well, me and every other Aztec on those threads.)

A lot of people are not aware that one way our society has decided to deal with racial and cultural bias is to openly play it down as a non issue. How do you do that, you ask? Shoot, just as Snoop DoGG www.youtube.com/watch?v=EjWezx6ap-8

(Well, me and every other Aztec on those threads.) DJ Gay gets that from USD too. I don't remember fans saying USD students were all that offensive. (at least not like some are making out Tennessee fans to be) Without reading the thread, I can't really take a side. I am guessing that some of the comments you say they made above were from some kids or immature young adults like our own Phillip or Monty . (Just a guess)

Don't you dare group me with people who made racist and homophobic comments. Belittle me all you want, just be accurate.

Can't say that I've heard it at games (although I'm sure it could be true) but I've never seen it on our message board, and certainly not the way the Vol fans were slingin' it. DJ Gay gets that from USD too. I don't remember fans saying USD students were all that offensive. (at least not like some are making out Tennessee fans to be)

Just saying....Phillip is 16, he has an excuse......Monty is 28 and he is talking about people "gobbling" up balls?

(Well, me and every other Aztec on those threads.) That's a very fair readout on those threads. And to round it out... yes there were a few very nice, well-informed, and well-mannered GUESTS from Tennessee who came onto AT - apologized for the idiots - and then offered welcome commentary on their team, etc. But still... the A-hole quotient from Tennessee was beyond anything from any other school for the handful of years I've been on AT / AM.
