WR and he will be the wildcat and will compete for the PR and KR spot I'm assuming you mean in 3 WR sets?

This guys is seriously fast, deceptive speed is so tricky. I love how he just played stop, freeze the defender, then blaze past him. I hope he gets a shot at Punt Returner as that position will play to his strengths. I see this guy coming on strong in the future. DBs are going to struggle covering him. I love our depth at WR this year. Watching him operate out of that deep I back, I wonder if the staff is pondering using him in that way as well or if they see him strictly as a wide out? Help me out with this DShaw, is that similar to what florida did with percy harvin? From what I remember he had success both as a runner and a pass catcher

Hard to imagine the starting/base lineup isn't sullivan either hillman/kazee in the backfield, umolo, brown and demarco at wr (and the lineup that is most used). Is he going to win the 3rd wr spot, he could, but i doubt that is from day one.

So I can see Ezell sharing time with Nico Sandifer in 3- and 4-receiver sets this year and both starting in 2011.

I don't get the remarks about the guy's size. He is listed at 6-1. That's not big for a receiver, is it? My other comment is about redshirts. Coach Hoke is not real big on redshirting guys. Seems that his philosophy is, if you can contribute, you will play. He's 6' 1" 200 as an 18 year old freshman! 200 lbs is big for any receiver, but his age gives him room to grow. He could very easily leave State as a 6' 3" 220 lb and still be running a 4.4. That's freakish. He comes into school with a better height/weight ratio than most of the DB's in the world. Quentin Jammer is thought of as a physical corner and he's 6' 204 according to the NFL.com. With his combo of size and speed, he comes in as a nightmare to jam on the line and he'll be hell to bring down in the open field. If the tape doesn't lie, we haven't had too many pure athletes like this cat. He's in my top 10 of storylines for this up coming year.

Sharing time sure, maybe eventually winning the spot, but he's going to have to beat out Sandifer I would think, and he surely isn't going to beat out the top 2. IF we're in 3 wide let alone 4 wide that is telling us we can't run the ball and/or umolo is hurt/ineffective. I have though he contribute or have a chance to since he first burst on the scene, but it is going to be in a jack of all trades position - special teams going both ways, some snaps at receiver, some time in unique looks (like wild cat or 3 rb sets maybe). He'll 10-20 snaps and at least get some seasoning.

The guy hasn't even practiced once with the team and already guys have him supplanting all-confernce-type WR's. Now I know for sure that it is summer and the kool-aid is flowing....

He's obviously got different skill sets than Harvin, but looking at him, I wonder how he would do as an I back running counter trey. I don't know if he is strong enough or physical enough to run between the tackles, but given that body and speed he would seem to have a bright future. I sure hope he takes care of business in the classroom.

There's nothing wrong with being excited about incoming recruits. Honestly, the kids who have the highlight reals like Ruffin's, never come to State. I'm excited to see him play, no doubt. But it wouldn't shock me if he red shirted. Punter Returned and some situational play at RB, WR, and in the Wildcat is how I think he'll be utilized.

If the kid can handle the practice field AND the classroom, no way Hoke keeps him out of games. That will be the true test. He's got to stay eligible!!!

I'm basing it off his highlite film. These may not give an accurate portrayal of the skills of a player but they certainly do regarding athletic ability. The guy has rare athleticism.
