I'm glad to see marketing really putting an effort to give our amazing team a "main guy" that they market the hell out of. I just hope it increases. KL should be on billboards, ads, buses, trolleys, etc. This helps get the casual fans to the games.

i think the commercial sucked! i almost fell asleep. where is all the high flying dunks, blocks, etc that get you pumped up for basketball??

They sort of made a great play into meh; you basically had to know the play to find interest in it. You don't guilt the choir into returning next sunday in say July, you guilt the folks on easter sunday and christmas.

so what is the end result message of this spot? Good advertising leaves you with a lasting impression. It prompts you to take an action or to take an particular opinion. I am not sure what the take away from this ad is? If you were not familiar with the play featured it almost makes no sense as it clips the play short at the begining and then plays the entire thing backwards, so you really dont even know what the play is supposed to look like...confused me and I remember it live!

You all were thinking the same thing I was! They only showed 1/2 of the greatest play in Aztec basketball history. If you did not see this play, it means nothing. The backwards thing was strange too. I was expecting a mention of all the 20+ win seasons in a row and the MWC conference tourney title last year. I am very disappointed with the commercial. It is unlikely to bring in a lot of new fans.

They should also be selling KL jersey's at games, but they'll likely blow that opportunity while sitting around wondering why the athletic dept. is broke.  |

should show the high flying game highlights from last year and the crowd from the St Mary's NIT game - maybe they could ask some of the the students to put together a highlight film

Meh? Dunks have become meh in my book. That play by Leonard, however, was not. I too therefore assumed that after showing it in reverse, they would show the entire thing played forward. Unlike dunks, which are everyday occurrences, that thing was extraordinary. Edit: Gotta say it. This is the first summer in memory when I'm excited for the start of both Aztecs football and basketball as BOTH are on the upswing.  |

I meant aren't stagnant as evidenced by my second half of my sentence where I state we have a clear chance to make a huge jump, I apologize for not proofreading. to be clear: we are for sure on the upswing, and I think just what is on the horizon in the backcourt shows we won't be dipping much and I'd bet we get some nice front court pieces to where the team 2-3 years from now will, again, be better than this team. |
