Hoke isn't going to take a guy for one year that just got kicked off his previous team.

As much as I liked this kid coming out of HS, I would be very surprised if he ended up on the Mesa. I just think there is too much baggage for Hoke to consider him.

That's why you get 4 downs.
You get extra chances.
That's part of football.

With both legal and academic problems I would think it is a long shot that Hoke would take a chance.

www.dailycamera.com/ci_15350482?source=most_viewedLooks like he is already at State for summer school. Is there anyway for these kids to talk to these guys before they sign? "I kind of regret leaving San Diego," Simas said. "I've had my time here (Colorado), but if I came home to San Diego State, I'd have family support and other people that support me. That's something I was missing here."

I can see him walking on as a transfer, but a schollie is unlikely from Hoke IMO.

He's enrolled in summer school at SDSU, if he gets good grades and handles his off the filed issues Hoke will then probably consider him.... but until then he has a lot of work to do on his own.

The article said an ambiguous he's in summer school here - is that UCB or SDSU?

We will need him next year after we lose a couple really good receivers this year. Come on Markques and prove people wrong on here.

He's enrolled in summer school at SDSU I think that's inaccurate. The article was written in Boulder and it says "he's enrolled in summer school here." Also, the Aztec Sports Report says Hawkins told him if he got his act cleaned up that he might still be able to suit up for his final year of eligibility at CU. I heard from somebody who heard it from the horse's mouth that Ryan Bass would be coming to SDSU and I think Bass thought Hoke would take him with open arms but found out different. Based on that and the above, I think there's next to no chance Simas will be an Aztec.

"Hacksaw" said he wants to transfer to San Diego State on his show today.
No word on if Hoke wants him.
I will go with Hoke on this one. He will need recievers next season. We lose Brown and Sampson.

I'm sure he does want to come to SDSU, Steve. However, so did Ryan Bass. However, Bass is going to finish his collegiate career playing in the Kibbie & Bits Dome at the Kremlin in Moscow.

From what I gather; if you don't show State love out of HS, don't be surprised if you don't get no love if you try to come back.
Besides, it took him a long time to get homesick.
I bet he's just looking for another free ride without having to waste away in a JC.
The kid is getting desperate.
Just my .03.

It will detur the local kids who think they can take an offer somewhere else and "if it doesn't work out I can come back and play at State."

I don't think it's any type of reprisal - Hoke and Co. weren't even around when these guys were picking schools out of HS. But, if you have limited eligibility left, if you've had problems academically and/or with 'motor' and/or with the law, those don't seem to get a long look from Hoke - I think that right now is an excellent strategy - part of what needs to be cultivated here is a winning, team, disciplined attitude - when that infrastructure is there, maybe you can roll the dice on some extra talent that might flame out and hurt your APR (which is something else to consider, someone who was ineligible for a year, is now in summer school, might transfer - what are the odds he gets a bachelors? it's like just slicing some points of your APR).
