Yeah, I said it.
This collective "aw shucks", "we would've done the same thing", "good for them" attitude around here is precisely why we continue to linger in obscurity. Show me a "good loser" and I'll show you a "true loser".
Have little fire. Show some pride, get pissed off. We are fighting a battle here against the worst form of crony capitalism and we had arguably our biggest ally pull a Benedict Arnold on us.
I hate the Pac-10 with all of my being. They are the ultimate definition of hypocrisy. They feign "intellectual superiority" but in reality it is all smoke and mirrors. I would want NOTHING to do with them if SDSU were invited.
Utah fans scream and yell for years about the inequality of the BCS monopoly yet drop their pants and come running when they get invited to the "cool kids'" party. So much for standing on principle...
How do you spell hypocrisy? U-T-E. I reckon Orrin Hatch will be quiet now...
I can understand USC and UCLA poaching our local recruits. Same backyard, etc. However, when UW, WSU, OSU, and now Utah can say to a local kid: "Sure, you may want to stay near home so your friends and family can easily see you, but you'll never get to compete for a "National Championship". With us, you can..." That is incredibly difficult to recruit against. The BC$ is a monopoly, the epitome of crony capitalism, and completely un-American.
Have some damned pride and get pissed off for once.
Well I guess we can go back to playing in the sandbox and eating paste with the other kids in the "Special Olympics" division of collegiate athletics. While we argue about Chuck Long, helmets, mythical stadiums, and fish tacos; other schools make REAL progress.
<Golf Clap>
Some of us are apparently willing to accept mediocrity.
I certainly am not.
