How does Utah leaving affect our BCS AQ attempt?

Here is the last sentence in the formula:

"* The computations will be made according to the conference’s membership on Dec. 4, 2011."

If the information that stats as of "Dec 31, 2011" then we may be able to use Utah in our formula. The way I understand it is Colorado is not moving to the Pac 10 for 2 years starting July 2012 which is when the new Pac 10 TV agreement would be in place. So Utah would also wait 2 years join and would still count for the MWC.

How ironic if before they leave they help us get in.

I'm the last person that would want to see any kind of legal ramifications come from Utah leaving to the Pac-10 (because we'd have done the exact same thing) but its pretty F'd up that the BCS has a formula for Non-AQ conferences to gain inclusion and before we can get there they take our highest ranked team before it can be used.

Lets hope that is taken into consideration when the 4 year evaluation period is done.

I think swapping BSU for Utah actually strengthens our AQ status. Like many have said however if TheMWC is the obvious choicewhen the time comes its hard to believe the rules won't change.

bcs people wont grant an 8 team conference a bcs garuntee.this conference needs 10 teams imo.we need houston!!! and then ??
