That's the thing that keeps going through my head, too. Win.

Beating Missouri and getting over that losing-to-BCS-schools hump should be a shot-in-the-arm for the rest of the season.

7-5, even 6-6 and a bowl game... would be HUGE this season.

We can never control anything other than ourselves and assuming any sort of control beyond that just leads to unsanity: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Non-Aristotelian_logicIt doesn't matter what Utah or any other school does. The only thing that matters is what we do in order to advance and get into the upper tier. =Bob

I put this in an earlier post. I could not agree more, if we take care of business we will always be OK.

You got that right! Winning cures everything, and people start paying attention to your
team, coach, and school, and what others say. Just keep getting better players, and start
pounding on some Big Name schools, and everything will start going your way. No Doubt! ;D

There will be Super Conferences eventually (the Big 10 has just paused) so SDSU needs to get it's S*** together and become a top football program or it will be left out of the final realignment when it all goes down.
The One good thing about this round of expansion is that the PAC 10 just learned that it can't get Texas or the other Big 12 schools next time around that that will limit their expansion candidates.
With the Big 12 still around I think their will be 5 Super Conferences when all is said and done. The PAC 12, Big 12, Big 10, SEC and ACC will all be at 16 Schools some time in the future. That future is about 10 years away, in my opinion.

Correct, that is all we can do to effect our future. The sooner we do it the sooner people will start paying attention to us. We can't worry, or complain about the past it is over and in the history book. But, we can plan and get ready for the future because that is where we are going. As Steve McQueen once said in a movie, " The future starts Now!"

Unless you need 16 teams in a conference to get a good TV deal I see no good reason to have a super conference. The WAC 16 was a bust for us and you can go years without even having a home game with some of your conference mates. We will be seeing how these 12 team conferences will go but maybe they all will go the way of the Big 12. I would prefer eight 10 team conferences.

Get the players, get them to buy in, build the program, win games.
Rinse and repeat.
Win and repeat.
Don't rebuild, reload.
Oldie Out

The only thing that matters is what we do in order to advance and get into the upper tier. Here's the problem with that - when other schools make moves to give themselves more of an edge (recruiting for Utah in SD) then that makes it all that much harder for the Aztecs to take care of business. Winning and moving up just got a little harder. With the last 15 years of Aztec football that mountain doesn't need to get much bigger to become too big to climb. I'm just hoping that Hoke and company have the ability to turn this around.
