and... Dan Beebe was adamant that the league won't expand and made sure that he said not within Big 12 footprint. No shot TCU.

Was Beebe adamant that the Big 12 won't expand within their current footprint or that they won't expand at all?

If Thompson has a plan rather than just going to lunch with the "Mountain" to discuss the use of vuvuzelas by BYU and no other team in the league, he would be in Lubbock and Houston adding teams 11 and 12 to the MWC. Great to see the MWC be the cause of the BIG12/11/10/9 implode. Why go to Austin every year to get your brains beat out? They just discovered the grave sites of 80 gladiators in York England, Steveem's ancestors. Interesting that one was wearing a TT helmet. That's what TT is, a dead gladiator buried in Austin.

If I was Texas Tech, I'd still think about jumping ship to the Pac-10 (if invited). In my opinion, the Big-12 has been saved for one more year, but it doesn't sound like a solid league. If the Pac-10 invites Utah, and the Big-12 crumbles in another year, then it's likely that Texas Tech wouldn't get invited to the new conference. (Assuming Texas, aTm, Oklahoma & Okie St get/accept invites)

If I was Texas Tech, I'd still think about jumping ship to the Pac-10 (if invited). In my opinion, the Big-12 has been saved for one more year, but it doesn't sound like a solid league. What you say about TT has been debated on their board. Problems with TT rather than Utah as the twelfth Pac team are: 1. The Texas legislature was involved in saving what's left of the Big 12-2 so isn't going to allow Tech to scuttle the deal. 2. Even if #1 wasn't a problem, word was the Pac wasn't all that thrilled about Tech and Okie State to begin with based on academics so the two were only going to be admitted in a package deal. The fact is that if Tech hadn't hired Mike Leach, they would be in the same position as KU, KSU, ISU and Baylor in terms of their value to another conference. With Leach being replaced by Tubberville, one assumes they will have continued football success but who really knows?
