My inside sources say that in a surprising development the Big 12 intends to invite USC and Cal to join their conference. This move will leave the PAC-1011 severely crippled.

That's funny...and at this point, not completely out of the question!

Nine is an odd number that actually works well. Just think how much value that adds to the new Big 12's TV contract. Cal and USC would give them the California market. We know that all those UCLA and Stanford fans are really closet USC and Cal fans. And as Texas has shown Cal and USC could be compensated at a rate that doesn't treat them as being the same value as the Washington State's of the world. We have seen great disparity in compensation between conferences . The only fair thing is to have disparity between teams within conferences. It is the next logical step and the right thing to do based upon the free market.

That's funny...and at this point, not completely out of the question! But, .... remember a few weeks ago there was huge talk about expanding the ncaa to 96 teams (and all hell broke loose) before they simply expanded it by only 4 additional teams. After all this talk, we might only have a handful of teams change conferences and the majority of the teams remain status quo.

USC-UCLA and CAL-Stanford would never give up those rivalries. The alumni would throw fits.

Hey, c'mon! The Griz are great! A trip to the Big Sky country, perfect! Bears vs Gatos? Beats SDSU vs Nicholls St. The Fred Noonan School of Navigation.

A conference dominated by "The Griz" with a bonus of a trip to Missoula every other year. You can eat at The Grizzly Restaurant where they have no menu but you can see what is for dinner by looking at the stains on the waiters jacket. (Fresh Stains Only)
