I heard this one the other day.... Florida Oranges, Texas Cactus, We play (Insert opposing teams name here) just for practice...
and this one directed at an official.... "Call it like you swing.....BOTH WAYS!!"
Trying to remember some of the others I have heard over the years.
"C'mon ref, Call the Foul! He's riding him like SeaBiscuit!" "We got (best players name) yes we do we got (best players name) how about you?" "How do you see to eat??" (chanted at the officials) "Helen Keller" (for a particulary bad referee) "weightroom weightroom weightroom" During a timeout after the opposing team has played terribly, "they're gettin' yelled at!" "When I get old and I can't see...I want to be a referee"

The people in the bottom of the student sections are the ones who get there early. It should come as no surprise that the late commers at the top don't have the same spirit, overall.

Count me as one of those who wishes the IBTWWW chant was uniquely "ours". What I do like is our "twist" on it. Having past and present Aztec stars lead the cheer is brilliant. How do think the crowd would respond if Marshall, Stras, Chet, or Tony lead the chant from center court prior to a huge game. I would love to see the entire arena yelling, fist pumping, and jumping. Even though this is a student-led chant, IMO the people who work the games need to get behind us and support us in order to get the whole crowd riled up. This means putting up the words to the chants on the jumbotron so that the "old farts" who don't know what all that commotion is about can join in on the fun, after all watching college basketball, especially a top ranked team is not supposed to be like watching baseball. When I looked around last night after the Aztecs started dominating, all these alums and older people were just sitting in their seats while the student section was rockin'. At least get up out of your seat and clap geez!

Hey all, I'm new to the boards but a long time fan and a recent alum, I have a suggestion. Last night at the game was my first time sitting in the section to the right of the middle student section. I always sit in the middle towards the bottom so I never really noticed that so many students who don't sit in the middle section don't get into the chants we do, especially toward the top. I believe this is due to the fact that they feel like they are not being included. My suggestion is to get two more guys on the right and left sections to start the chant. That way all three sections will have the IBTWWW chant starters, this is especially critical for the BYU game because we need to be as loud as possible. Please feel free to provide your own suggestions on some good ways to get more students(esp. those who sit toward the top) to get more involved. Thanks. This is a great idea. Don't listen to the haters. You guys took it, made it better, and do it better than anyone in the country. Again, great idea to expand it further. The Show does it better than anyone in the country?

Aztecbill, I don't fully agree with you on this one. Yes, there are those who are slackers, don't really care too much and come late, but there are those like myself who are faithful fans but simply can't be there when the gates open. Last night I battled traffic on my way from work to the arena only to get there 30 minutes after the gates opened and student section was about 80% full I was like wtffffffff I def. don't remember it being like this 6 weeks ago! Bandwaggon or no bandwaggon but the more the merrier. All I'm saying is let's try and get the whole crowd invlolved, if people on the top feel noticed, like The Show is trying to include them, it will be 10x louder in viejas arena, we might come close to making it as loud as it is in The Pit.

Hmm, just go all Cobra Kai Leader: Fear does not exist in this dojo, does it? Show: NO, SENSEI! Leader: Pain does not exist in this dojo, does it? Show: NO, SENSEI! Leader: Defeat does not exist in this dojo, does it? Karate Class: NO, SENSEI! Then Bounce up and Down and chant "Show No Mercy" or "Sweep the Leg" No and then go with "Get Him a Body Bag" Classic

The only gripe I have with IBTWWW is that it's not ours. For instance, when you google "I believe that we will win," the first returns you see are for Utah State. Videos of the Aggie fans doing it, blogs about them doing it dating back to last year, etc. For a fan base that calls everyone out for waving enlarged heads behind the backboard, I just wish we had something original to call our own. No disrespect to the great students and other fans, I just wish Utah State hadn't come up with it first. Can this stop please? USU DID NOT come up with the chant. They took it from navy and made it more popular. We're doing the same thing but with a better ranking and more media attention. It gets the crowd fired up and gets very positive reviews for the most part. Who cares. .......besides, if everyone else can copy The Show's "Faces in the Crowd," (and I think I saw BYU doing it last weekend.....THE HORROR!), then why can't we borrow "I Believe?"

All the old farts sitting next to me were wondering what The Show was saying. By the way, our clap at the beginning of the game was is a train wreck last every night! Fixed that for you.

Watching the Cuse v Gtown game.... Cuse fans do the stand and clap until they score as well. So should we scrap that as well since somebody else has the same tradition?

In regards to the clap, it does seem like once we slowed down the tempo a bit, it became a little more manageable.

If there were an IBTWWW leader at the bottom of the other sides, the whole arena would be yelling it. All it takes is 2 or 3 Show guys/gals and the crowd will follow.

I enjoy the “I believe” chant no matter where it came from. The first reference I’ve found is Navy in 2002. I hope the SHOW keeps it.

In regards to the clap, it does seem like once we slowed down the tempo a bit, it became a little more manageable. That clap has always been out of sync. Now there are simply more people out of sync. At least the kids today don't have to clap for the first five minutes of a game like I had to do a few times as a student.

they could do the hooooooooo (like before a kickoff) instead of the clap - no coordination required

No matter how hard I try I’m one of those out of sync and frequently get an elbow in the ribs from the wife. The problem is I don’t ever realize I’m out of sync.

How difficult is it to either follow the drummer's lead, or if you can't hear him, watch the cheerleaders as they keep the tempo? Either one will work wonders......
