6’5 and 300 plus athletic. We need some bulk in short yardage situations. Always good to add depth.

On the topic of recruiting big lineman, I thought these 2 quotes in Canzano's article today sum up why so many west coast teams run a 3-4-4 or 3-3-5 scheme. They're from Nick Aliotti (Oregon's old DC) & Mike Leach, both referring to their time in the P12:
“Getting D—lineman was the hardest task,” Aliotti said. “Of course, we always wanted to be longer, bigger and leaner. But we were in the Pac-12 on the West Coast. There were just not enough big bodies in our region. The ones that were out there in other places were not going to fly over all those colleges to come to us.”
Mike Leach echoed that to me in a conversation we had in September of 2022, a few months before he died. He left Washington State for Mississippi State in 2020 and settled into the SEC. I asked Leach what the biggest difference was between SEC and the Pac-12.
“I don’t think there’s much with the skill guys — there may not be any,” Leach told me. “With the defensive line in particular, especially the D-line, it’s significant. I’ve thought this for a long time — the SEC, what they do better than any other conference — everybody wants to say, ‘skill guys.’ Well, there’s been skill guy after skill guy after skill guy who has torn up the SEC who is from California or Texas. No — it’s defensive linemen. The defensive linemen in the SEC region, there’s a lot of them and they’re really good. A lot of teams in the SEC can line up with four to six bonafide (NFL) defensive linemen. That’s the biggest difference.”

would guess that the most difficult guys to evaluate are the OL and DL
Maybe as pointed out maybe there are more in the SEC and BIG areas
in watching the Champs game it sure seemed that the OL and DL were very important for the success of both teams - or showed that U of M had a better group - same with Georgia and Alabama
Can the new staff at SDSU maybe try to bring some guys from the Midwest towards SDSU

The only way a west coast school can compete on the DL with SEC guys are either to get some of them to come west or recruit Polynesian DL who have genetic traits to be big, strong, and athletic. Washington, Utah, and BYU have made a living off of getting poly DL. When USC was in their heyday back 15 years ago they would get both guys from the south and polys.

Chambliss is a good get. SDSU is getting good players who had played at Centennial HS. Aztec Coaches are doing a great job.

We need at least 2 more quality D-Lineman and 2 more quality O-Lineman.

For context, Wolfe was the #209 ranked player (Top 30 TEs), Puka Nacua the LA Rams Rookie (https://www.on3.com/db/puka-nacua-96993/) was the #115 player in the same class. Wolfe has years of experience at USC.

saturdayoutwest.com/usc-trojans/usc-loses-veteran-pass-catcher-to-transfer-portal/"Wolfe began his career in 2019. Over his five years with the program, injuries have been a consistent obstacle in front of him. A back injury slowed him during the spring of 2019 and then redshirted during the season. He appeared in four games in 2020 before a broken foot ended his season. That injury kept him out of spring ball in 2021, but he was able to become a key part of the rotation during the season. He appeared in a career-best 11 games and made eight catches for 56 yards. A summer injury limited him to three appearances late in the 2022 campaign. This season, he made 11 appearances, brought in two receptions for 5 yards, and scored his first career touchdown in the win over Colorado on Sept. 30."
