I’ve grabbed my popcorn to read all about those that shot vitriol at those that took LIV dollars and joined the tour. I initially didn’t like it or support it- but then the sanctimony and hypocrisy of the PGA tour “saints” started to bug me.
They just continued to turn up the outrage and rhetoric to where those guys bugged me WAY more than the guys who went to the LIV.
So yeah, I’m ready with popcorn and the coming hypocrisy from guys like Monaghan and Rory. They beat a dead horse IMO… looked small in tne process … and now they are in cahoots with those they despised and shot vitriol at. Priceless.
As far as the Saudi angle and criticism - all true and warranted. Get back to me when our government does no further business with, and stops getting enriched by, the Saudis. Spare me the righteous indignation.
I’m fine with this thread here. I’ve probably got nothing else to add however.

PGA clowns were in the drivers seat, had LIV in the crapper and threw them a line for no reason other than billion$. No scruples. They suck! JMO I think the PGA was in the “driver’s seat” in the US but probably not globally and that’s what made the PGA do this. I think it blows and feel for guys like Xander who were loyal to the PGA and stayed professional throughout the fiasco. You have to consider that there are places where the US is seen very differently than most of us think. And those places have rich dudes who want to spend money on golf. So based on what I’ve heard/read the PGA likely got concerned that LIV was going to get increasing levels of global traction and threaten the PGA tour’s status as the de facto best tour in the world. So Jay Monahan and the PGA tour management decided their best option was to sell out.

Wonder if the PGA with its' newfound billions will be giving some token $ to the PGA players who were offered LIV$ but turned it down to stay loyal to the PGA. Guys like Xander.

I personally am for keeping this thread up. It's helping to identify which users are loyal Americans who remember the attack on 9/11, versus those who want to own the libs even if it means siding with the terrorists responsible.

Terrorism, i.e. 9-11, is indeed heinous but let the country, and by extension countrymen, who is without sin cast the first stone.

But do you believe that the U.S. deserved what happened??? Did you lose eight of your friends and many other acquaintances that day? Many were newly married and with infants and small children who grew up never knowing their parent who perished that day. Friends of mine. And did you luck the hell out that they chose Tuesday instead of the previous Friday??? FORK YOU MF'er.

Who is "we"? "We" have been bending over backwards for the Saudis for at the very least like 4 decades, and realistically much longer. Everyone flips their lid when a business does it but no one bats an eye when it is the policy of the US government (or, you know, Twitter) Capitalism rules all. Now if you want to talk about fixing capitalism... Our relationship with the Saudis over the decades has been a disgrace. And we have been unwilling to do what was/is necessary to end that relationship. We are allies of convenience with a number of despicable regimes. That is on us. It is our responsibility to own our bad behavior.

Once again, a thread in the Aztecs sports subforum becomes political. Here’s a thought: take this ish to the “State and National Politics” subforum.

Once again, a thread in the Aztecs sports subforum becomes political. Here’s a thought: take this ish to the “State and National Politics” subforum. The thread did not "become political", this is literally in the OP: "I guess all the LIV detractors will refuse to watch due to 'Human Rights Atrocities!'" The mods have chosen to leave it up because it expresses a conservative opinion which they support. That's the reason. Period.

I don’t follow golf and, frankly, the discourse in this thread leaves me scratching my head, but it’s obviously political. Take it somewhere else.

Cool. Can we talk Los Angeles politics here? Karen Bass is the mayor of Los Angeles, and an Aztec alum.
