Not that you care what I think (and I don't blame you there), but it's just disappointing and predictable how biased and inconsistent you are, as you "critically think" and comment. I know without a single shred of doubt, if the shoe had been on the other foot in the Riley Gaines SFSU situation and it involved "MAGAs" or any conservatives doing similar, you'd be in HYSTERICS and demanding judicial investigations, arrests, you name it. Shame on you. It's a waste of a high level of intellect (which I believe you do possess), when you can't look at situations objectively and unbiasedly. I don't know enough about that situation to even comment, so I haven't. There will always be outliers/rogue actors/extremists, no matter what the cause. These mass shootings, for example, almost always have a trigger. Some form of bullying, some family trauma, some event that leads to the end result. There's usually some sort of suicidal ideation, like we saw in Louisville. The increase in technology leads to more live-streamed events, like we saw a couple of days ago. The immediacy and ease of access to weaponry, combined with how we treat mental health in this country, sets a cascading amount of dominoes into motion that we don't see until people are dead. I would argue the same level of objectivity resides elsewhere, for what it's worth. Should we only care in select instances? I'd relax on the hyperbole, I don't want any judicial investigations. We have too many of those currently ongoing that are gigantic wastes. Well, you sure seem to read most of what comes across politically. I guess one of your left winger Twitter follows didn't share much content on the Riley Gaines drama. Figures. Really surprising you don't have a hot take here. When I grew up, the Bay Area was the center of the universe for music, societal change, the environmental movement and on. Everybody wanted to be there. It was a magical time and place. But as you and I know, things change, nothing stays the same. Population increase and lack of ability, or effort, to deal with the increase has caused huge problems. SF was unbelievably good back in the day, Oakland, especially west Oakland, was never that great. |

Guys,
Discussion has become a bit vitriolic, lately. And I haven’t helped cool that down.
I think aside from one poster I’m not familiar with, over the years of the Mesa I’ve had good rapport with most of you and we see mostly eye to eye on baseball, the Aztecs, and other matters. Good chance we’d enjoy each others beer company.
I pledge to tone down any disagreement and engage w civility.
