Tatis fell down, somehow, but is apparently ok with scrapes to his hands and knees. His father immediately said it wasn't from a motorcycle accident, which to me seems suspicious, since his father didn't say how it happened. He just signed a big deal and that's probably something in his contract he's not allowed to do. Hopefully he's ok, especially the shoulder. He's fine. Was already back to normal activities earlier in the week. Allegedly, he wasn't "fine".

Sorry I don't subscribe to your sky is falling panic. Nah. You were just TRYING to save face for being wrong. That was clear. Something you're known to do, so no shock there. Save face? For what? Being wrong about what? You're just running with a narrative that doesn't exist. Kim will play shortstop, they have enough offense in the lineup to compensate and the pitching should be great with Snell, Darvish, Musgrove and others.

I hope you're right and we're fine after losing him for 60 games.

You wonder if others are naive, but if you were going to immediately accept their answers about the nature of his injuries and the accident, then I've got some killer swamp land for sale deep in the South of Florida for you. There's a reason why I started that thread, and that was because it was very suspicious.

Bigger issues still exist. By the way, to clarify your point (which was incorrect), the UT (and local sources down in the DR) reported that Fernando was involved in a "minor motorcycle accident." So Sr. denying the report wasn't out of nowhere. And to reiterate, he resumed baseball activities as normal afterwards. And it's also important to note that this would be a non-issue if the lockout hadn't prevented him from going to the Padres' medical staff to get consulted. The lockout prevented that from happening

Jesse Rogers of ESPN on Twitter: "Probably not a great thing, when Fernando Tatis was asked about when his motorcycle accident happened, he responded, 'which one'."

Jesse Rogers of ESPN on Twitter: "Probably not a great thing, when Fernando Tatis was asked about when his motorcycle accident happened, he responded, 'which one'." Before this goes nuts with certain folks, he asked about "accidents"....and then it was clarified about the motorcycle. Appears to be just a context/phrasing thing.

“ During the lockout, team doctors were allowed to provide care and treatment to players if the doctor was not a team employee (which Padres team doctors are not). But based on conversations with Tatis’ representatives at the time of his accident, the Padres were convinced Tatis suffered only bruises and scrapes in the accident until they became aware of the possibility of an issue with Tatis’ wrist at the end of last week, after the lockout ended. They did not know the extent of the injury until X-rays were done Sunday.”

Note to Tatis:
Put down the motorcycle and slowly back away...
