Here's a criticism : Fernando's concentration and throwing are going to be a major problem for a playoff/championship caliber team. Just not good enough to butcher a routine force play and the throws while stationary are constantly short of the target. Clearly protecting the shoulder, but it has to get better. Talk about someone being disingenuous. Nice try at the recovery though. I can't win - Either I'm a homer or I'm being disingenuous with my criticism. If I cared more, I'd probably make stuff up for your benefit...but who does that? Not me. Good win for the boys.

I have heard it all...I'm a homer. Lol. That's absolutely hysterical. Thanks. I needed that. Yes, I started a thread on Croneworth and Grisham weeks ago when both were killing it, in the top ten in WAR production in the NL. Cronenworth has been awful the last two weeks, unfortunately. Not having an awful opinion on a non-issue doesn't make someone a homer, it makes them a non-believer in nonsensical, unquantifiable garbage. You don't have any facts : Facts require PROOF. You have no PROOF. You have a warped opinion on what you think you saw on a television. That isn't a fact on this planet or any other. You're consistently awful with your characterizations and overexaggerations, like it's really important that your morality shines through.. so there's that, I guess? I don't care who "calls me out"...This isn't a pride contest, it's about what's real and what isn't. I stand by what I say. Sometimes I'll be wrong, sometimes I'll be right. I guess the club's okay, considering they are shutting out a first place team. Weird how the dugout isn't on fire and nobody is exchanging punches. Don't go all dramatic on us again Ryan. I think just about everybody on here said that they'll be fine after all of that. You're right Ryan, maybe I'm going absolutely blind. I must be from the way you're making an obvious situation look like I'm nuts. Let's talk about awful for a moment. The way you spin stuff and use things to cover your narrative is just AWFUL. The way you cover your eyes to situations, so to speak, is not becoming at all, especially for a writer, if that's what you do. And remember, typically if more than two calls you out on something, (like homerism) it's usually time to look in the mirror.
Now let's close this out Pads!!! If you believed "they'll be fine after all that" then why even bring it up? If it's not an issue with the team why make it an issue among the fan base and keep harping on it over & over, like you've been doing? And, BTW, Ryan's the most informed person on this board & you're asking HIM to look in the mirror?! Everyone, including YOU, have had more than 2 people "call them out" so maybe EVERYONE should look in the mirror, including yourself!

Everyone, including YOU, have had more than 2 people "call them out" so maybe EVERYONE should look in the mirror, including yourself! I don't call out much unless it's glaring to me and others. The Pham issues discussed were glaring to me. They're professionals, so I expect them to get past it. And, if I would get responses that didn't make me feel like I was being attacked right away after only asking questions and wondering about something, (see page one) that would help a lot. You don't see teammates arguing and have almost fights in the dugout every day, as well as a few past incidents,, so it's reasonable for it to come up here. Get real. This is a fan board, so we can discuss anything we want, and there's going to be issues that come up that may be more important to some, than others. I haven't been harping. I've been responding to things that have been said in rebuttals to my posts. Simple. I simply stuck to what I believe in and didn't budge, so maybe you didn't like it. So be it. You responding to me like this, is keeping it going, so think about that. By the way, I wasn't the only one questioning if Pham had anger issues. Also, again, they're going to be professional and say the right things to the media, but we'll probably never know how some really feel. Concerning Ryan, I've told him that I respect his opinions and I agree he's very knowledgeable about the Padres. That doesn't mean I can't disagree with him. I look in the mirror at times, believe me. As a matterof fact, A LOT of times after I post something here in a heated debate, I feel remorseful for the way I handled it. Perhaps others feel the same way sometimes. Also, remember, if you don't like a certain topic, you can just scroll right on by. Having said all that, I'm completely moving away from this issue. Go Padres!!!

Go Padres!!! There's no doubt there will be disagreements, and this is a fan board so opinions will very greatly. But where I think things go bad is when someone doesn't comprehend they're just giving their opinion and not stating facts. There were early posts, and where the entire thread started to go sideways IMO, that stated his actions are becoming "detrimental to the team" when there is no way of knowing that. The unsubstantiated negative spin is what tends to start the spiral. While it doesn't happen every day, dugout confrontations do happen frequently. Spend time watching the MLB network & you'll see a few every week. Especially when it's a very short, quick exchange. Many athletes are passionate & emotional, and that's definitely not necessary a bad thing. It makes sense to bring it up, but not to draw conclusions that it had become "detrimental to the team" IMO, nor that he has "anger issues". 100's of players have broken a bat over there knee. The only thing we actually know is "detrimental" is the fact Pham was forced to miss a game. Something we can't afford right now. That definitely was unfortunate, but seeing how outfield/infield communication has been an issue all year maybe it took a more serious accident to see better communication. We'll see. I think if the thread would have kept closer to the "I hope it doesn't affect the clubhouse" line of thinking & avoided people thinking they know what's going on not only in the dugout/clubhouse, but in someone's head, I doubt the thread goes sideways. Heck, some are quoting their friends (my friend who was watching thought he was a dick for doing that), thinking that makes them the expert when we know it adds nothing to the conversation. Who cares what anyone's friend thought, other than proving he's drawing unfounded conclusions as well? We can all look in the mirror, but I think the main thing we all should keep in mind is that unless a comment is supported with facts (stats, quotes, etc.) it's just opinion, not a fact. And to quote you, having said that "Go Padres!" Like Ryan said, we're all rooting for the same thing (presumably). Thankfully this site isn't a stupid & ugly as some of the Padre FB pages which are not only full of angry, negative people, but very clueless ones. At least on this page we have people who know having a guy with a .400 OBP for the month is actually a good thing.

Go Padres!!! Pham had a right to be angry. That was his ball. Look at where they collided in left field. I'd be angry too if I had my bell rung after the shortstop collided into me on my ball in the middle of f****** left field. Now granted, Dickerson probably told him off for yelling at Kim. Look, tempers flare sometimes. And hey, maybe Kim went after that ball because earlier in the inning, Pham let a ball drop in front of him that he could have layed out for.

Always a mis-adventure when those two converge, this time it was quite physical. This is fundamental baseball at its worst. Call the ball. Looked like maybe Kim's fault, but both are gone. Pham cussing up a storm leaving the field… Kim helped off the field. Concussion protocol is certainly indicated. That was a football hit without helmets … and somehow Kim made the DP. To top it off, Pham went semi-berserk in the dugout creating an incident with one of the coaches. Good grief. Hope they're both OK. I think it was with the Infield Coach. Maybe he was sticking up for Kim.
