With the current streak and our movement in the polls you would have to believe that there are a couple of areas we should be able to capitalize on including the following:
1. Recruiting especially the emphasis on bigs. We should be able to first off have discussions with kids/parents that may have overlooked us. You would have to believe that our current run is at least going to open a few doors, answer more calls, receive more responses to texts and hopefully get more future visits. Our area/fans will sell it self. Time to take advantage of this wonderful opportunity. 2. Key transfers - More long term especially after the season. (Need to think about replacing your current juniors since a transfer is more likely to be forced out a year) 3. Scheduling - Hopefully we can line up some really good home/home type series like say (Arizona, Gonzaga, Oregon, Kansas) and if not a home and home or at least a neutral court game 4. TV - good match-ups will probably get TV. Geary match ups will get us on TV.
Looking forward to hearing more about future visits. Really excited that the Butler is coming next year!

Regarding recruiting and transfers, SDSU has one open scholie for 2020-2021. They should save that scholie for a 5th year transfer. A big that plays like Yanni Wetzel.

This year will probably help with transfers/2021 and 2022 recruiting the most. Won’t have much of a impact with 2020 HS kids

Little Doubt the need for the 2020 / 2021 team is someone to replace Yanni - be it HS guy, JC transfer or the grad transfer - but not always that lucky to get one
Also really important time to get even more development from Nathan - will need it when Yanni leaves
right now that seems to be AG , Keshan , or Joel ( who could also help at the 5 position)
We do lose numerous players the following season Matt , Jordan, Malachi , Trey P , so at least 4 scholarships

Can't imagine we'd lose Malachi that fast. As far as a big goes, remember we have Johnson who should be more polished in time for his sophomore year. He's not as big as Wetzell, but he might be able to play big with his athleticism.

To Europe? To injury? To transfer? Go Pro I agree....if this team makes a deep run, my guess is he'll opt for the pro game.....wherever that may be....

Do think this would be a great time to be recruiting a big to replace Yanni next year - showing we do know how to use a quality guy down low.

I do think the coaches have done a good job working to get this group of guys and to get them to buy into playing better defense . Getting the most out of each guy - but most important getting them to work on being a better team means sharing the basketball for some guys who are used to being The star on their previous team or even our team last year . Getting the guys to play good team basketball on both ends of the court is key for the current success
I was also agreeing with the poster ,that while we are playing good is a great time for the coaches to be trying to recruit a guy that can play down low . has not always been easy to get those guys . Yanni has shown that those type of guys can be successful here at SDSU .
Recruiting quality players is important and also developing them while they are here . Plus communicating with them to understand their role so all are trying to get the W . Team Basketball. Not as easy as it may seem . Do think the coaches are getting a lot out of the talent we have .

Do think this would be a great time to be recruiting a big to replace Yanni next year - showing we do know how to use a quality guy down low. More than likely a big for next year will be a 5th year transfer or a transfer who can play immediately. You can't start recruiting those players until they go into the transfer protocol which won't happen until after the season ends.

Do think this would be a great time to be recruiting a big to replace Yanni next year - showing we do know how to use a quality guy down low. I believe given a few P5 players like Wetzell and Flynn, Dutcher and his staff are very good. You can't coach dead-eye shooting or shoulders and moves like Yanni's. Go use those scholarships on unhappy P5 players! Remember an SDSU scholarship offer is a: "Get out of Pullman card". Think X-Thames, Malachi Flynn! JMO
