247sports.com/player/elelyon-noa-46054046/Anyone have ideas why getting players to commit has been so difficult? We are currently 11th in the MW and now other MW schools are grabbing players from the backyard. I don't recall getting off to this slow of start before.

It’s really unfortunate the Aztecs couldn’t get Noa. A really quality RB!. I know they offered him but don’t know how hard they went after him. They didn’t get his brother Zeke a couple of years ago and now he’s a starting LB for Boise State. He’s got a younger brother who is a freshman at Helix and a very good prospect!

What offensive player in the country wants to come play for the 115th ranked Total Offense and 119th ranked Scoring Offense? What defensive player wants to go to a school where they know they won't get any help from the offense so need to play a perfect game to have a chance at winning?
Our offense limited our chances this season, it limited our attendance and now I believe will hurt our recruiting.

our offense is not going to get many takers - especially when the coaches say the player do not execute
would guess Rocky will say if guys do not want to come here then of course we do not want them
but hope our AD can find a way to talk with him
should be able to get guys that want to play D

why in the world would a kid who plays on the offensive side of the ball want to come to SDSU?

I was hopeful that I was wrong in assuming that the last couple of seasons of this offense was a factor in recruits decision making........I get it with QB's but a fair number of tight ends, offensive linemen & RB's have made it to the NFL on that side of the ball. I was hopeful that would be a positive. Really hope recruiting picks up because we are woefully behind.

Maybe SDSU is waiting until after the first signing period to try to get some of the P5 left behinds. There could also be some silent recruits that we won't know about until signing day.

I recall Hoke took a bunch of recruits in SoCal with him when he got the HC job at Michigan. Oldie Out

Early signing day is next week, and all we have is two minor commits. Rivals has us ranked 11th in the MWC, and yet few on here seem to care. It should raise some red flags and concerns, but apparently not. I sure hope Rocky picks it up before national signing day in February or the future for our program does not bode well.

I know it really helps being in a Bowl game - saying to recruits we have been to 10 Bowl games, even though it is not a great Bowl game sure beats watching on TV
But is it better or worse having the early Bowl game for the coaches being able to connect with recruits while they are practicing for the Bowl game . Or is it better having recruits in while the current players are there for the Bowl game
RB - believe we have the transfer from Nebraska who was injured last year and the other guys coming back - more important is the OL
QB - possible transfer coming ?
offensive stats and play calling hurt when you are recruiting and the explanation - It was poor execution by the players .
Will be interesting to see what happens - also with the recruits who have said they are going to schools that have lost their HC
Wonder if our AD has honest discussion with Rocky or does not have the guts to bring the difficult things up with him

However, as I understand it, those recruiting services give points for number of commitments. Since we now have a mere two, one would anticipate that our ranking would be close to the bottom. Hence, I think we need to wait for another 10 days or so before concluding that the staff has been sub-par this year. And given what a great defense we have as compared to our being close to the bottom of the barrel on the other side of the ball, I won't criticize Rocky Long until I see whether Jack Sears is going to be an Aztec and whether underachieving Jeff Horton will remain offensive coordinator.

Also, not a large graduating senior class, so fewer scholarships available.

Scout has 3 commits for us. Long said he would probably only take 5 or 6 this early period, so I guess things aren't too much off.
