He seems to be into the team and games. He doesn’t have any eligibility left after this year so maybe he can grad transfer at semester break but I don’t see him doing that. I hope he gets healthy and can contribute a few minutes a game for us. Definitely doesn’t deserve to be bashed on here.

With Arop possibly being out for awhile, it would be nice if Narain could help with some minutes off the bench. Keshad will get most of those minutes He may get some, but I suspect the primary beneficiaries will be Mitchell and Seiko (both of whom were entrusted with being on the floor at crunch time at the end of the game). I was just looking at the average stats ( ESPN), and here are the average minutes per game so far: Flynn: 30.4 Feagin: 27.8 Schakel: 26.8 Wetzell: 26.0 Mitchell: 21.2 Mensah, N.: 20.1 Pulliam: 16.7 Arop: 10.9 Seiko: 10.7 Johnson: 7.0 Mensah, J.: 6.9 I suspect that Arop's nearly 11 minutes will go to Mitchell (bringing him up into the 26-28 minute range with most of the other "starters", and with Mitchell playing at the 4 more often, Seiko's time at the 2 and 3 will bring him near Pulliam. Johnson may get a sliver of it, but my money's on those two getting the lion's share.

For the season Keshad may be averaging 7 minutes per game. But over the past 5 games Keshad has played a total of 7 minutes. I'm not sure he's ready for prime time. Hope I'm wrong. Was thinking the same thing. I was surprised not to see him in at all in the last 5 minutes of the CSU game. Don't think he played against Iowa either.

Probably because he's still too prone to "Freshman mistakes" to be in the circle of trust for those key game situations in crunch time. He'll need to earn his way into that circle by making fewer mistakes and playing a bit smarter when he does get playing time. He'll get there, but it will take a little time and effort.

It seems like the vast majority here are genuinely curious as to what’s going on with him since the team and Zeigler aren’t giving out any info.

I was just hoping that wouldn’t happen.

Another James Johnson? He may look for other opportunities. Dutch's new staff may have their own recruits/transfers they want to bring in. We do better with more athletic bigs, aka pogo sticks. Oldie Out James Johnson was somewhat the epitome of a "big man" who was passed up by the bigger/better schools - the obvious reasons became clearer every time he got onto the court. Nolan seemed to be much better than that, but somehow just couldn't ever keep it going. He's always looked a little tentative out on the court. Confidence maybe? Opportunity? Who knows. It'd be nice to see if he's made any progress outside of practice.

I just wonder if he will ever play? Inquiring minds wanna know! We definitely could use him against the big men in conference like Co St center. If nothing else he could've come in when are bigs had 3 fouls, give a breather and a few fouls as their big shot 50% from the floor. NN has some nice touch around the basket on O.

There some stretches when I thought he looked pretty good. Long term injuries seem to have hampered his overall development.

True, but we are favored by massive amounts other than the Utah game which we are still favored to win at more than 80%... I think that Dutcher will “try” to give the minutes to Keshad to see how he develops in “easier” games before we get back into conference games...

You're probably right that Johnson will get more playing time in the more-likely-to-be-way-ahead type games. In recent games Mitchell has been getting 24-25 minutes, and with Arop out, I expect that will become 26-28, and Seiko will probably be in the 13-15 range. When Johnson gets in to those "easier" games, he'll probably see 5-8 minutes, with mainly "mop up" work if he gets into the tighter games. They definitely want him to get enough floor time, with the occasional tougher competition, to position him to be a key player next season.
