Back in the day when we sent 4-5 teams to the tournament from the MWC you could root for the underdog to beat the team picked to win the MWC. Not now and Utah St. is getting beat by San Jose St.
Smith is so worried he has Merrill playing with 2 fouls in the first half. We can't afford the one quality opponent we might play in conference to have a metric meltdown against San Jose St. I have
no idea San Jose's BPI but I'd bet it's close to 250+.

I see San Jose State changed their court. They used to have those things that looked like helmeted ground hogs. It was hideous. That's gone and they have their oversized logo there instead. Halftime...Utah State-36, San Jose State-33.

There is no nightmare here. San Jose is just playing well and giving Utah St. a close game. They are playing better, but we'll see if they can hang on to beat the Aggies.

Does Utah St. have the shortest shorts in college basketball? My eyes!!

No, I don't think so. Many colleges are wearing the new shorter shorts this season. I think the Aztecs have them also. I like them better, because the old long shorts always looked more like skirts. Way too floppy, and seemed to hinder the player's movements on the court.
Plus, they look so much better, I think!

But they have over-corrected. The NBA has it right, knee length.

Getting back to the so-called nightmare game up in San Jose. No problem, Utah St. came out in the second half and put the Spartans away by 15 points.
San Jose is not good enough yet, and hasn't learned how to win. That may change in the future, but not tonight!

Basically my point is we need Utah St. to win every game until we play them. They definitely can't slip up to a team like San Jose St. See where Coach Hut lost to UNLV at home in OT.

It should be a sell out with only 900 tickets left as of today. What a great reward for the players to see a full house. I think this will energize them and we will play well and win going away.

As of right now 10:34 P.M. Wednesday, there are only 17 non-resale, non-student section tickets available.
EDIT: I just took another look this morning and there are a lot more tickets showing as available today than what I saw last night. I didn't count them, but it looked like several hundred.

Need in what sense? We aren’t on the bubble, take care of our business and we’ll be in with a lot of ease. No need to panic

tough two opening games for San Jose USU then the Aztecs - key for the Aztecs being up mentally for all the remaining games in December . We are going to be favored and need to win every game during the month . Never know when some guys do not fully buy into being mentally prepared for a game . We have seen too many games where it has happened that the Aztecs did not play up to potential and lose . Target on our back . Hope our coaches have learned from previous years when we have slipped up - can not make up a bad loss .
By the way Utah beat BYU in OT - Utah game is still very important and they scored 102 points . So defense will be important .
