Think we could have a lot of OL due to return and RB's - so is the coach saying they do not know how to execute the game plan
Who would you say is a current coach on the offensive side of the ball that can teach them how to execute or do they dump the OL
What coaches can also show some enthusiasm for the offense
WR's seemed to be able to make plays and the TE's - if they had a game plan to use them more often
does Rocky really believe in having a QB that is the focal point of the offense or basically want a game manager

chris peterson or kevin o connell For Head Coach? I really hope you aren't hoping for the OC spot. Kevin O'Connell is an NFL Offensive Coordinator. Why would he step down from that to be an OC for a G5 program and make a fraction of what he is making now and can potentially make by sticking in the NFL? Chris Peterson could come in and run the offense and live an amazing life in SD. Maybe he just got tired of all the responsibilities of being a head coach. New stadium coming, less pressure to win a national championship, knows the conference. Everyone was worried that Rocky was a head coach before and became the DC. Same with Hoke. Rocky leaves his assistants alone and lets them do their job. Zero to little media responsibility. Kevin might not love the NFL. Maybe it is his dream to coach in college. Rocky only has a few more years and we will be looking for a head coach. Just saying these are people I would go after. Money and title arent everything.

I’m starting to believe more each day that Horton will be back for another year. If so, everyone should email Wicker so maybe he has the talk with Rocky If Wicker hasn't heard about fan dissatisfaction with Horton, he must have wax in his ears.

After having a brief, but friendly discussion with someone quite high up in the Aztec Athletic Office today, I highly doubt that there will be any changes made to the football program unless Rocky desires to make them. A team that may possibly go 10-3 with a bowel win isn't looking to change much of anything, our own general and specific observations notwithstanding… even if they go 9-4.

Maybe... but in truth, AztecMesa posters are totally and completely irrelevant (and appropirately so) to the Athletic Dept. Dollars talk, so it's significant donors who have Wicker's ear who need to be the ones to carry the message.

Who recruited and has attempted to develop the OL? Who recruited a given player depends on what coach has been assigned to the region that said recruit is from. Do you think coaches make these decisions individually?

It is incredible that more than just a handful of casuals on this beleaguered board actually think Rocky is gonna replace Horton — just because — what? Because we didn’t score many points? Didn’t run Block very well? Because you were dis-satisfied with 9-3? Pretty soon you’ll realize that Horton is the OC as long as RL is here. Believe it boys! It’s true!

SDSU had the second worst scoring offense in SDSU D1 history. SDSU Offense played against UCLA defense ranked 112 out of 130 New Mexico St defense ranked 124 out of 130 Utah St defense ranked 96 Colorado St. defense 53 Wyoming defense 46 San Jose St. defense 105 UNLV defense 104 Nevada defense 72 Fresno St defense 87 Hawaii defense 95 BYU defense 62 We played crappy defenses yet, we only scored 19.0 a game and you think everything is fine because we went 9-3. The defense carried the team for the last two years. Also, "more than handful of casuals on this beleaguered board" is funny. The paper, the radio, and the media, Ex SDSU Players are saying the same thing as us casuals.

Bottom line- both statistically and just watching the games, this offense was bad. Historically bad. When you overlay how bad the defenses we played all season were, it means this offense was even worse than the numbers say and then what our eyes told us. Add in that Rocky said during the season he had no idea how to fix it. Troubling. I believe there are many reasons for this. Yes some is player/talent related. But even that traces back to the coaches. Recruiting, development, offensive philosophy, play calling ... on and on. Plus, Rockys desire to run the ball 70% of the time - kids today do not want to play in that type of O is not appealing to most recruits - maybe some running backs, O lineman that can’t block, QBs that can’t throw. The problems on O are deeply ingrained and complex. Hortons horrible play calling was the most obvious and egregious when watching the games. But I don’t see the offense being a strength while Rocky is here unless you can find another tandem of backs like Rashaad Penny and Donnell Pumphrey were. Even if you could, it’s tough for any running back with 8-9 guys in the box every play. So I don’t see Rocky bringing in some bright offensive mind, young or old- and actually letting that OC call an aggressive and imaginative game plan. Sad ... and continued frustration.

Rocky actually cares about what the casuals on this beleaguered board say, or he wouldn't be miffed during media interviews and defending his staff.

People keep asking how good this team would have been if its offense was of the same caliber as its defense. Well what about asking how bad this team would have been had its defense been as bad as its offense. The answer is see New Mexico.

You are probably right but if nothing else he should juggle his staff a little in a couple of areas. 9-3 is really quite good until one realizes without our field goal kicker they might not have even been at .500 and have achieved the minimum # of wins to be bowl eligible.

If Horton leaves, give me a young stud up and comer from the Air Raid coaching tree. Dig deep and look at assistants to Leach, Riley, etc. You get the point.
