Funny I haven't heard this yet. I've never thought it but many were calling for his head during his second season. Most wanted Coach Hutson. So let's take a look at his team Fresno State. Boy do they look great
sitting at 2-4 after last night's loss to CSU Northridge. They also have a loss at USD. Their wins you ask...Winthrop and CSU San Bernardino. Hutson no longer has the Terry recruited team. Not saying they won't
rebound and have a better season in his third campaign next year but Dutcher is doing it in his 3rd campaign with most every player having little to no ties to the Fisher Era.
Congrats to Dutcher and the Aztecs! Let's make this season special. If we can just stay away from injury or some other malady I think we will!

Winthrop beat Kentucky so by the transitive property Fresno is better than Kentucky. Hutson has a force to be reckoned with again.

It's a bit early to make comparisons between Dutcher and Hutson. Let a few more years go by. Good luck to both of them.

Funny how it's too early to make the Hutson comparison now but last year we totally screwed up when Dutcher and the Aztecs struggled early in the season.

When the haters were trashing Dutcher last year (and even the year before), many of us countered that you have to give a guy 3-4 years to give him time to get "his guys" and his system in place. We're seeing the leading edge of that for Dutcher this year, and next season & 2021-22 is the window to watch for Hutson.

As always these threads are even more lame than the original fire ones

Really glad to see Dutcher having a good year. I am hoping Hutson will improve quickly too. I still think his wife will be up there in Fresno area with him in the not too distant future.

I'll admit to being very on the fence about Dutcher after his first two seasons (never called for his firing though), but I'm extremely impressed by this team that he assembled. Ever since seeing their exhibition game I came on here saying this is the best team we've had since that X Thames led team. They're fun to watch, hopefully we'll keep this going

As always these threads are even more lame than the original fire ones Definitely not as lame as your take. Last year in Dutcher's year 2 season prior to conference we had a poor OOC and a lot called for Dutcher's head while singing the praises of Hutson. Fresno State is doing far worse so far this OOC than we did last year. My point is it takes time and I am in no way saying that Hutson is a failure. In fact, I hope he does well just not against the Aztecs!

As always these threads are even more lame than the original fire ones Yep. It's funny how certain people get triggered when someone is critical of something and then they go and do the exact same thing. I guess it's the world we live in now.

My concerns with Dutcher in his first two seasons was his in-game coaching, especially his rotations and use (make that, non-use) of time outs, was not good - and did not improve from season one to season two. Also, did not like his hiring of Palmer to replace Hutson AT ALL.
The Palmer fiasco was resolved this season with the brilliant hiring of Acker. And Dutcher’s in-game coaching has improved by leaps and bounds this season. Also, Dutcher deserves major props for developing Yanni Wetzell.

Always knew who was getting subbed in and out no matter what was happening in the game. Good to see a good mix of lineups at various points this year.

I love his use of time outs this year too. When it seems we've hit a lull or a bad stretch he doesn't seem to wait as long to call TO. It's made a difference in stopping 8-0 runs from becoming 14-0 in my opinion.
