I heard he ate at Applebees. What has this got to do with the Aztecs?

"San Diego State is the other school I've talked to and obviously I have ties there because of my uncle Roman," said Fortin.
Fortin's uncle, Roman Fortin, signed with Oregon State out of Ventura (Calif.) HS in 1985 but then transferred to San Diego State, where he became a starting offensive linemen before being drafted in the 1990 NFL Draft and spending 11 seasons with the Lions, Falcons and Chargers.

Family ties always help. Look at LB Calvin Munson, he arrived here all the way from Missouri, all because his dad played under Rocky at Oregon State. Fortin mentioned the stability of coaching staff being an issue. At SDSU, looks like our coaching staff is set for awhile, nobody's on the hot seat. Oldie Out

think it would really help if the Aztecs would continue to use our QB and pass the ball out of the newer formation if we hope to get QB's that can make a bigger difference in the offense . Or do we stay with basic RB type of offense .

so wonder going forward - are we going to be balanced attack where QB is a very important part of the offensive plan/ or RB University - run the ball until they stop us and maybe throw on third down
Could be important deciding what kind of QB we want to recruit and even more important what QB's may have an interest in coming to SDSU - also WR's

The offense we use today will be the same offense we run next season. The kids will need to be coached up to execute that offense.

I notice he throws it sidearm, like Philip Rivers and Dlugolecki (remember him?).

Oldie Out Well, that and the fact that he didn't have any other D1 offers (at least not that I recall). One of the most under-recruited players I've seen.

so are you saying we should try to be an offense with a more balanced attack - running and passing the ball - say 50 / 50 or 60/40 or be a primarily run oriented offense
Would guess a QB would want to know and go to a school that has that as its game plan- the same as the QB - an offense that is led by its QB
I happen to agree but is that the game plan for Rocky / Horton style offense - if we had an accurate throwing QB would we lean that way or prefer to be RB U

I would't say he threw side arm, it is more a 3/4 throw. certainly not like Dlugolecki but not not like Brady either. He has a quick release.

What I like about this kid is he can run which fits what the Aztec QB have done well in the past. Good release and pretty good arm strength displayed on game film. Looked pretty comfortable in the pocket. Having played his freshman year and having 3 years left seems like he would be a pretty good fit.

Any commits?
