Everyone with a 2020 scholarship is looking to fill out their roster. Just because Kentucky is interested does not mean he get above the scout team. In a few months he will be competing with transfers. Interest now may not lead to a real offer.

I mean that Kentucky gets 5 star, one and done players. However they also have a bench. If a 5 star or higher rated player becomes available, they will get the free ride. SDSU may do the same thing, but are much less likely to find a better player.

The Aztecs may offer a better path to development in the long run.

Ok, is this guy a "Center" or a SF? Everything I've read seems to suggest he's more of a perimeter player... which isn't really what we need.

Nice update. From Stockrisers: "The 6-foot-10 forward landed offers from Oregon, Florida, Kansas, Texas A&M, others, then the schools kept filing in.... Now, with Chipola, averaging 13.0 points on 43% shooting, Mading has kept programs involved all season long heading into March. “Schools include SDSU, Nevada, LSU, Cincinnati, UConn, Colorado, just to name a few,” he told Stockrisers.com. He said LSU recently reached out and will be in to see him soon.
In addition, he plans on starting the visit process once the NCAA tournament reaches an end later this month and into early-April."

This timing is perfect as State still has Ebenezer Dowuona has their number one big recruit even though he has declared for NC State, the NCAA really to NCST is due any day, likely within the next two weeks and then a hearing with a final outcome in April. If ED doesn’t ask out by May 1st then the Aztecs will bump Mading up their list... aztecmesa.proboards.com/thread/60002

He has signed his LOI with NC State, plus they are devoid of Big Men in the 20-21 season. Do you have an inside track or is this speculation.

Committed to Pacific. Have to believe we didn’t go too hard here? Thought he’d be a good get but had been quiet for months.

Committed to Pacific. Have to believe we didn’t go too hard here? Thought he’d be a good get but had been quiet for months. Pacific? They had a pretty good program this year, 23-10 and a coach who is a former NBA Rookie of the Year who once scored 54 points for the Portland Trailblazers, Damon Stoudamire. They've been in the running for a number of recruits on the West Coast especially.
