...Is a harsh reminder that talent doesn't always translate to titles. You need a manager who has a pulse of the team to make the right strategic decisions at the right times to get the job done. His baffling decisions cost the Dodgers dearly. And as fortune would have it, LA just announced he will keep his job for 2020.

I half expected Roberts to be fired and immediately hired by Preller.

It is interesting that Clayton Kershaw came in in the eighth inning as a relief pitcher and gave up two runs. In 1998 Bruce Bochy brought Kevin Brown in to pitch the eighth inning and it worked out equally badly. Luckily that just tied the series and the Padres won the series the next game in Atlanta.

Pitching translates into titles. I half expected Roberts to be fired and immediately hired by Preller. Be glad he was extended less than a year ago. He is an awful strategic manager.
