They have some quirky rules where you are limited to a certain this or that situation. I'm assuming they just want him in instructs. Fine with it.

Padres add 3 pitchers to the Javelinas: Osvaldo Hernandez, Reiss Knehr and Elliott Ashbeck. One roster spot remains to be filled.

I'm assuming they just want him in instructs. Fine with it. It seems they have relaxed eligibility rules for the Fall League this year, so hopefully, Trammell ends up on the Peoria roster at some point. Personally, I think October 16-20 would be a great time to have Trammell playing in the Fall League. Coincidentally, I will just happen to be there those days.

So far, after 19 games in the Arizona Fall League, the only Padres farmhand who has any really decent stats is Elliot Ashbeck, a RHP who pitched almost exclusively at Lake Elsinore this past season. Pitchers Morejon and Lawson have pitched in 1 game each and done decently, Russ Knehr has struggled, Osvaldo Hernandez can't get anyone out (ERA over 22), and after Nix's 1 outing, well, let's just say he's had issues. Position players, C Logan Driscoll (NWL, who replaced Campusano) has 2 hits in 3 AB's--both hits were HR's. Owen Miller is hitting .205 after 11 games (44 AB's) and Hudson Potts is hitting .200 (30 AB's). Not a stellar performance so far from the Padres representatives in the Fall League.

Peoria has 4 games remaining in the AFL, and is already eliminated from playoff contention. Morejon was announced as the starter on 10/18--even in the pregame intros--but did not pitch. Morejon has only pitched in 1 game this fall. Lawson started instead of Morejon last Friday, and pitched really well. Osvaldo Hernandez was effective out of the bullpen his last 2 outings, but his first 3 appearances were dreadful. Reiss Knehr pitched 2 bad outings along with 4 decent outings, while walking 7 and striking out 10 in 9 innings. Jacob Nix? Last seen sniffing around doggie doors. Elliot Ashbeck pitched very well in 5 appearances. Logan Driscoll (catcher at Tri-City in NWL) did well in very limited appearances (5 for 10 with 2 HR's) after replacing Campusano. The other position players--Hudson Potts and Owen Miller--just have not been very impressive.
I'm also guessing the AFL isn't using the MLB/AAA ball this fall, as even in the wind and heat, only 1 player has more than 4 HR's.
In addition, the overall team averages were as low as I can ever remember in the 27 years of seeing the Fall League play.

These guys have played a ton of baseball over the course of the season. Mostly just there to advance development against quality competition.

And there have been plenty of players over the years that have hit against that quality competition. For the most part, it isn't happening this fall. I'm only pointing that out.

The point is nobody in any front office or PD cares about the statistics guys put up over a few weeks in Peoria in October. Otherwise we would be pushing all our top guys. But, I understand your point.
